I had a Rossi revolver that was recalled due to defect and after a year and a half they sent a brand new Taurus revolver I just had to pay the transfer fee to the FFL.

Well I went ahead and snagged a micro 9 yesterday. We’ll put a few hundred through it and see how it does.

meanwhile, I still have this 27 up for trade. Might have a couple boxes of 40 to even out a deal. Anyone want to trade one of those newfangled 43x’s?

I have G45 (17 round grip, short barrel). Also a G44 for less expensive practice. with the expressed desire for 43x and 27, is the 9 mm short-barrel/17-rd-grip of the G45 a less popular choice?

I will say non-MOS. No plate to remove to install optical (looked it up on the web). I am smart enough to have purchased a night-sight to replace the standard white bar hard-sights.

I have a 22 cal, gen 5 19 slide, that will work with your G45. Any interest?

I absolutely despise my G27. I want to like it…but I hate it. Now, my 43x…pure love. My G22, I love! Handles well…shoots great…conceals like, well, like you’re trying to hide a barn door under your shirt. That 43x is just so sweet…

My biggest problem has always been a balance of grip length and barrel width, but never really with barrel length. My benchmark high quality marksmanship is with the g19, but I cannot carry it because of the width of the slide and grip.

I have large hands so the ultra short grip of the 27 is not enough for me to stabilize. It is the perfect grip length for conceal carry, though it still gives me trouble with the width. I love .40 though, so it has a lot going for it.

the 43x seems like it would be a fantastic shooter, but even with the slim profile I can tell I will have trouble with the grip being too long for carry. I had it side by side with the micro 9 and it has a significantly larger frame profile than the micro 9

Not immediately. I purchased G45 for a perceived self-defense need in 2020, still keep it for use when traveling in AZ hinterlands (at least where I am not prohibited due to wildfire risk issues). As long as my glow-in-the-dark hard-sights work, I can decide if I need the slide that allows better rear-sight. Thanks for the offer.

Does the 27 not live up to the glory of the 26? You looking to unload the 27?

Like Tuluk articulates above, there is something about the geometry of the frame that makes it hard for me to stabilize when shooting. And because I like to shoot tight groups, it doesn't live up to my expectations (see how I blame the gun?!).

But not looking to offload because it has some sentimental value to me...and, well, because selling firearms is sacrilegious.

Just curious about the experience AZ residents have had ...

Going to San Diego for a wedding in August. Want to visit at least one "beginner" offroad path to visit a mine on the way back from I-8 exit and it would be nice to have some protection in AZ hinterlands. Means my G45 travels with me, packed behind the back seat away from the driver.

Does CHP and/or county sheriff get gripey about AZ people doing this? I have no CCW yet.

I typically call an LEO agency where I travel and ask what their expectation is. One cops problem with you may not be another cops problem…but if you aren’t breaking the law then neither one should have an issue. Last time I was in California they asked that it be unloaded and “locked” up. Ie in a trunk or lock box while traveling.
