Took my factory taco TRD Sport off-pavement for the first time today. Up the Ruth Mountain road and across German Ridge on the Burnt Mountain Fire Rd, came down Blakey Ridge but didn't get as far as Utz where there is now a cell tower I think. This is all in Madison County. Nothing serious but was a blast nonetheless. It handled it fine with stock tires and no lift. I had gone partway up this with my Forester several years ago but turned around at a property I was looking at. Kept going today!!! Put a permagrin on my face. Love to get out with others.

It was a good time, especially since there was basically zero connectivity to the outside world! Refreshing break actually. He did 32 years and retired from the Marines as a LtCol (LDO).

Have to ask…. Are you going to do a gazillion lumens again, like the previous taco?

Probably not. I’ll transfer over some of the BD lights but I’ll sell the rest.

Beautiful day for a drive in the truck. Too bad it was to work.

Hey Virginians! I'm going on a club run to Potts mtn on Sat, but thinking of heading up early to hit some of the other Forrest service roads in the area and do some sight seeing. I would be solo for that trip Friday and dont need anything hard at all, I'm fine with a gravel road to a cool lookout or something. So far I only have bald mountain. I see there is a jeep badge of honor trail at peters mills run anyone hit that? Anywhere else I should checkout in the area? Anywhere to avoid?

Peters Mill run is an easy point to point, south to north has a decent climb. Not sure it's a Jeep badge of honor trail. If it is, then Jeep needs to up their trail qualifications.

Flag Pole Knob via Union Springs Road (993) is a bit more of a challenge. I ran it in my stock sport first time in 2018. It has changed a lot since ten and I actually used my sliders last time up there. You could run back down on Dunkle Hollow Road down to Switzer Lake.

If you get up to Flagpole, take 85 over to Reddish Knob. Paved road, great view over the valley. Highest point in the area.

You will have limited to no cell signal on the FPK trails. And be prepared to deal with water on Bald Mountain. I had it it over the hood and a little mud in the air box.

If I didn't have a metric crap ton of work to do at the house, I'd join ya.

Good to know about bald mountain!! Thanks for those other places, not looking for anything too hard since I'll be solo, just some extra time on dirt and in the woods!!

And yea about the jeep trail rating system, I figure if they endorse it, me with solid axles on 37s should be good by myself lol.
