i wish there was a kit similar to this that did not include a shock relocate. i'm not hardcore enough to do a relocate, but i do want the hangers, cross tube, and flip kit with AG bump.

been waiting on the AG leaf packs before i pull the trigger on anything. any word on those or should i just grab the deavers?

We can add that as a package. We have some springs are in hand, we are waiting on bushings

Apologies for bringing this up again, but the solution for the ome dakars is just to cut the second leaf? I still use the rear most hole on the HH's? I have the HD leaf pack.

Yes, trim 2nd leaf slightly, just outside the shackle sides. You can move HH forward to foremost stock location with Dakars

    Thanks, that's the recommended location?

    @ARCHIVE

I'm still learning about all this fancy suspension stuff:anonymous:, but I'm knee deep into a parts pile awaiting install and stumbled across these. I take it 3.6" shackles would be the recommended ones for my setup? (Fox Elite 2.5's, Icon RXT, accutune u bolt flip kit, crown performance +4 extended rear brake lines)

If you want our shackles, then yes 3.6". If you have "extended travel" shocks, usually those are about 9-9.5" travel, you really don't need poly bushings, that shock is limiting factor in droop travel, so it's fine to reuse stock shackles with HH in some cases.

Finally got mine installed. I’ll have to post pictures later. Install wasn’t hard. Air hammer for the top two followed by drilling out the lowers. I will say adding the drill bits supplied by AG was 100% worth it. I think someone already mentioned it. Only got to drive around the neighborhood but definitely can notice a difference.

Thanks @drizzoh for this review on your build page:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/drizzohs-21-off-road-build.748190/page-11#post-28654651

"The manners of the truck are excessively better. I saw one review that said the rear end felt almost sporty after installing and thought they were insane as that's one word I would have never used to describe it before. They weren't insane. The handling is noticeably tighter (much more controlled) and it almost feels like it has an IRS now. The truck is so much nicer to be in without the rear end shimmy-fest. With the Hammer Hangers in, the way the back responds to bumps almost exactly matches the feel the front both in compression and rebound. They both just take their hit and recover instantly instead of the rear end amplifying the hit and taking its sweet time trying to sort itself out after. There is a washboard section of concrete I have to drive every morning on the way to work and while my lowered Scion tC on low profile tires always soaked those bumps up, the truck has always reacted like I was bajaing it down a mountain on an old mining trail at competition speeds like a bucking bronco. I can finally say that is no longer the case. The rear end was so much better behaved going thru that section this morning that it's almost like it wasn't there. The rear end travel is silky smooth now without the hangers flexing. These are a really nice composure and handling upgrade. Thanks Eric for making these badass hangers and shackles."

Thanks for sharing, Eric! Beat me to posting in this thread. The Hammer Hangers are an awesome upgrade! I had already upgraded most of my suspension setup, but the feedback and performance from the rear end still bugged me. Every bump in the rear was exaggerated while the suspension also just felt excessively flat and boring. These fixed pretty much every issue I had with the rear end and my review is 100% focused on just the Hammer Hangers install. They really do make the rear end come alive while also helping to calm everything down back there. Awesome upgrade all around.

When I was drilling out the lower two rivets the X member that spans the frame moved about a centimeter. I had no choice but to keep drilling through it. Kinda worried when I bolt it all back together down it'll remain the 1/4 inch or so out of wack. Anyone else experience this?.

I'm just gunna send it and hope for the best I think . My drill holes on the frame are ovaled out also. Not a tight 1/2 anyone else have same .. don't have any other option really

Personally, I wouldn't stress it. These frames are like spaghetti noodles so if that crossmember is a smidge off, it won't have any appreciable difference on any other component.

Do you have an aftermarket rear bumper or hitch? I would guess in that situation, that you may have an aftermarket rear bumper or hitch that is torquing the frame rails one way or the other. I don't trust the aftermarket, not everyone is careful. However it is certainly possible to come that way from Toyota as well. We have fixtures and gages to check our products and make them to a tight tolerance. But you should be fine.

It is ok that the frame holes are ovaled or larger, as long as you tighten the frame bolts in stages to draw the HH mating surface flush to the frame rails

I like it. I have a 2022 Tundra, and I love the 3.5TT powertrain and 10-speed trans. If they can do a 4cyl version of that, I'd be board.
The Tacoma seems to be in the 'safer' design language as regards the front grille like the 2023 Sequoia, the Tundra was a big reach

No rear bumper. It's actually a brand new frame from the recall . Only about 3 months old.. I hope it won't be and issue.

one other question though, Eric. I got your Polly bushing and new oem shackles to go in. Do you suggest drilling and putting a zerk fitting on the shackle to keep them bushings greased or is it unnecessary?

You could add the grease fitting, I've been testing those busings with OE shackles on my truck for a while, greased with the Energy/Prothane grease a couple years ago, no squeaks
