    It is alive!

After way too much research, I was able to determine with the info from @DragonPro that
my Tacoma should be on the Jasper Arrow after all. I was really surprised that it was not
unloaded in Long Beach, but the next opportunity was Benicia. The ship had to wait for
two other vessels that had left Mexico later than it, but it finally docked late Saturday night.
About 9:25am PDT on Sunday my Tacoma was able to connect to the US cell system and
report its status. The Toyota app shows me that it has 4 miles on it as well as 34 PSI
    of air in each tire.

The vehicles should soon be on rail cars (if not already), on their way to Houston. After
getting the next update from Dave, I will learn how to track the rail car.

Again, a huge thanks to Dave - his info has proven to be invaluable in keeping me believing
that my Tacoma actually exists and would eventually be coming my way. I was shown the info
that the distributor shares with the dealer this last week - it is much less detailed than
that Dave shares with us - in fact they didn't even show that the truck had been loaded on
    a ship.

I now expect the trucks in this shipment to be in Houston in about 10 days, and mine should
be in my driveway by the last week of the month.

Dave, I'll ask for an update tomorrow. The rail info should be updated by then.

@Cetacean Sensation yours has been at Benicia for the longest time. I'm hoping it is on a railcar on its way with the rest of our Tacos that arrived on Sunday.

@DragonPro - let's see if they have had time to load my Tacoma on a railcar and get the id info updated.
Things are getting exciting - not too long until I get to drive the new toy! If my research is right, there should be a lot of vehicles bound for Houston by rail at this point.
Thanks for the great info and help!

And that's after it sat in Lazaro Cardenas for 2 and a half months. :(

Starting to get nervous that something happened to it.

I was told that there was a big buildup of vehicles but not enough rail cars to bring them to Houston. Instead the GST Tacomas were taken to Lazaro Cardenas for the missing part(s) (we will never know), then it became easier to find railcars in Northern CA than Long Beach, or even at the Lazaro Cardenas port for a trip on rail direct to Houston. It seems really strange that the best way to get them to their destination was to go away from the destination.

Look at it this way. We would probably pay a lot to send our loved ones on a Pacific cruise, then a nice train trip on the Sunset Limited from CA to New Orleans or Houston. Looks like Toyota is doing that for us with our new loved ones...

DragonPro23, If you have a chance could you check on 3TYSX5ENXPT019169 ? It should be arriving soon. Driving by the dealer today I saw a fresh one, right color, right model. It still had the paint protection on it. Dealer said no. That's not yours. Wishful thinking on my part.

Umm, you are in Oregon? Seems like you should have had the thing a week or two ago! I certainly hope it isn't on the same train as ours (going to Houston).
Somehow it would have been appropriate for yours to be unloaded at the port of Tacoma... One of the ships went there after Benicia.

Yeah I'm in Portland. Weird how Lazaro Cardenas went like 2 months without a ship and then had a couple separated by like a week.

But yeah, the truck went from showing an April something date to be loaded onto a train to last week showing no estimated dates and no movement at all. Like I said, I'm getting worried.

I wonder something. The three vehicle carriers that were in Lazaro Cardenas in quick succession were the Jasper Arrow (4/26), RCC Compass (4/28) and RCC America (4/30). They each docked in Southern Cal before heading north. Each docked in Benicia with RCC America directly preceding the Jasper Arrow. RCC America's next stop was Portland, arriving May 8th about 5pm, just a short time ago. Since your Taco was already in Benicia, the order would not matter. Were they to use this method to get your Tacoma to Portland, it will probably show up on the Toyota app within the next day. It will be very interesting to see what the latest report from Dave will say. It does seem that finding ships is much easier now than finding rail cars.

By the way, for completeness, the Jasper America is currently headed for Honolulu. I bet there are some folks in Hi who will be happy to hear that...

That would be pretty strange, but maybe they made a switch the get it on a second ship? Can't say I thought about it as an option. That would be interesting to see.

My truck went north from Mexico on the Southern Highway. It left Lazaro Cardenas on 4/17 and arrived in Benicia on 4/22. The ship then went from there to Honolulu and arrived on 4/28. So thats 4 ships in 10 days? Insane.

Any ideas on why the truck would've been pulled from a scheduled train? Like I said above, I'm starting to worry something happened to it.

Unfortunately I can’t shed any light on that - I only know as much as they put on the inventory system. Sorry.
