first off this isnt mean to be a pissing contest, Im just trying to see peoples thoughts as to why.

Ive been a ford guy most of my life, I never had any problems with my fords. I work at a ford dealer as a tech also and see the problems they do have but its not enough to hate ford. i have friends that are techs at toyota dealers and they all seem to have the same amount of issues from one make to another.

this is my first toyota and I dont see anything any better/worse than my old trucks (ford ranger to ford superduty) reasons for going to a toyota was i wanted a smaller truck than a f150 but with 4 full doors, ford doesnt offer one.

anyways what are your reasons why? what are your legitimate reasons why? or are you just a band wagoner and dont really know why?

For me it's a mixture of things. I had an older Ford Explorer, and it was just a total dog. Lots of mechanical issues, and ultimately the tranny gave out and I parked it. Hated it!! My wife currently drives a Taurus, and it seems to be a decent car. No issues with it at all. So mechanically, you win some...you lose some.

By my dislike for Fords comes down to styling. I find almost anything that Ford makes is generally unattractive. I've really never been a fan of the trucks at all. The older ones (80's and 90's) were just butt ugly. And the newer ones really do nothing for me.

    Immature for the most part.
It has been going on for years, Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge, now Toyota vs Jeep and on and on.

Only thing I dont like about them, is it seems even the most easy task to perform (repair) takes a whole day, and is a pain in the ass.

when it comes to domestic, im a dodge guy. Not bc of the dodge aspect either, its bc of the cummins. Ford's were terrible after the 7.3L IMO! and chevy has IFS. Ford does have nice body styling and strong name though, i am just biased to dodge/chrysler though bc dad is dodge man.

Don't hate them, just haven't had great luck with them in the past personally. I think their new F-150 is pretty cool, but they completely ruined the Ranger as far as I'm concerned. The older 3.0L V6 was a good motor and damn near bullet proof for a light duty truck or commuter. The new 4.0 is a dog! It makes a lot of noise, burns a lot of gas and thats about it. Their cars seem decent enough. I've had a few small Fords as rental cars and liked them for the time I had them.

I hate Cheby's myself. I guess it's not the vehicle's I hate, it's the hardcore Chevy guys that think nothing is better and wont even consider anything else. I just cant stand the attitude from the Chevy guys/gals. About like Yota owners. :D But Chevy has had very few vehicles that have ever intriqued me.

umm, let me start off by saying my father retired from working for ford after 30+ years.
i dont hate fords, never have(I've owned a few). i do, however, disagree in the fact that they(fomoco) advertise and state that they are an american company. reason being that most, if not all, of the parts they are built from are from japan, china, or mexico. ok so they are an american owned company, but the majority of the money they make goes overseas.
The only reason i dont hate ford: they didn't need a gov bailout(my money, oh i'm sorry china's money) to stay in business.

I don't care for Fords. My dad have an 03 Expedition with the 5.4. Its pretty underpowered. When I drove to Flagstaff, AZ I went to speed up a little on a hill (wanted to get away from a trailer that was swaying) and found that it was already floored, it was only my dad and I in it and nothing else. This was keeping 75 (the speedlimit).

Up that same hill driving the taco with at least 600 pounds in the bed and towing a Jeep Wrangler I had it floored keeping 75.

And also the dam diff in the Ford is a noisy SOB. It was replaced when we first got it (brand new) and now it makes the loud hum at 58-62 in stead of at 40-45. The other things are the switch for the driver's window doesn't always work when rolling it up and the washer fluid warning light comes on with 7/8 of the tank full. Other than those things it has been a great SUV over all and no mechanical failure with 40000 miles.

I just grew up not liking Fords, because of style and reliability. And Ford likes car fires too much. Don't get me wrong I LOVE fire my-self, but not when it endangers people.

And last I've heard is that all "american" trucks are assembled in Mexico. So they aren't really American are they?
