I'm not sure, I know there's a couple 2.5/3 year olds in her class that are already wearing them...at least I hope they are legit and not some stupid "look" the parents are putting on them lol. But yeah sometimes they need them super young.

I didn't need them until I was in about 4th or 5th grade, and not full time until middle school. I was walking around squinting at shit all the time and I think one of my teachers told my mom about it

Yeah probably best to get on it a bit before you're noticeably squinting at everything. They can do it based on retinal and corneal response now so the kiddos don't even need to know how to respond anymore.

I'm just glad we live in an age where that's easily remedied...imagine being born in the 1500s or some shit and being blind AF with no options. I would have casually walked off a cliff by accident by the time I was 15

Although I guess since it's hereditary it probably wasn't half as prominent back in those days since those people probably didn't live long lol

Back then no one lived long anyway, could be any day you died from diarrhea or a cut you got while farming... or any other food borne anything.

Appendicitis probably would have killed me.

it would be an interesting timeline to see that points out the dates when common stuff stopped being deadly or debilitating.

That's a good call. I did a skin test like 20 years ago and it sucked majorly lol.

I just emailed my doc to ask for an allergy blood panel. Seems way less itchy :D

Oh no...my allergies to cats are really bad.

But a small part of that comes from an owner's responsibility to the cat; keeping the dander down IE bathing it or keeping it clean helps. But it really comes down to the cat itself creating said dander.

I didn't react much if at all to Harley, but your other cat stayed away (and I didn't want to find out).

At my cousin's old place, I couldn't hang out there more than 5-10 minutes before I was sneezing so much I couldn't finish a conversation.

I had a friend on my hockey team when I was ~12 years old that died from appendicitis. He went to bed one night with a stomach ache, parents gave him Pepto and he never woke up. Fucking awful. Ever since then I get really paranoid about stomach aches

We've had cats my entire time growing up and never once did we wash one. I'll never understand people who wash cats, they wash themselves and hate when others do it.

True, but it's something I had read about their dander and care of. I wouldn't know, I don't care to be around cats as I get my fill by watching cat videos on IG :burp:

Maybe it was referring to the cleanliness of the home they live in?

yeah cats shouldn't need to be bathed unless they are unable to do it themselves...injury or being too fat, etc. They are really good about cleaning themselves as they pretty much do it all day long

but yeah if they're too fat or something they'll get really bad dander and need bathing

Yeah now that I think about it, regarding the owner it was definitely the cleanliness of the house they lived in.
