My wife knew it was a package. She even rides her own bike now after being with me. We do have a lot of conversations about the idiots in cages though. Head always on a swivel when going in to the city.

Same. My wife and I were dating for maybe a year when I got my first street bike. Fast forward to 17 years later (and married for 9) the only request is I keep it to 2 or less bikes. She used to ride 2 up with me all the time in our 20's but now especially with our son she doesn't want the risk anymore. We are hoping to get her her own dirt bike this year though.

I obviously also could never get her to wear proper riding gear though... :annoyed:

Nope, everything is in my name, if you don't like it there's the door. Now understand I have a good woman by my side and we respect each other. She rides with me too. I don't controll her and she don't controll me. But if she wants to leave I won't stop her. I've been in a miserable controlling relationship before, never again!

Just to help motivate the purchase of a Tiger @Gunshot-6A. That's the XRx variant (roadie as some call it). Has not let me down yet on 1k weekend trips, miles of gravel/fire roads, even a small amount of simple single track. The 900's are supposed to be exceptional from what I have seen.

My wife said she feels better about me riding after riding 2 up with me, for what it's worth.

Yep, as mean as it sounds, motorcycle comes before wife, not because I don't value my wife as much as my bikes, but I don't like the precedent that it sets by letting her control my life.

    That's a good looking bike!

Turns out that now company policy is to pay out unused vacation, so depending on if I'm allowed to count my bonus weeks or not this year as I change jobs, I could cover half a 900 Rally just with that check. They just changed the policy as well so that's money I hadn't planned for.

I'm already scheming on a 900, and the Triumph dealer in Seattle is about 20 mins from my new place. Just need to get a place to keep a bike now, which is why I sold my 660.

I put another 300 miles on the Husky over the weekend, beautiful riding weather. Tried out a Crampbuster that @BkerChuck recommended and it works well. Also saw this cool Yamaha mini enduro at a local car show.

My wife said that she would divorce me if I got a motorcycle. That was three bikes ago and she still woke up next to me this morning so I'm beginning to think that she may have been bluffing.

What jeans do you guys like the best? Getting fat in my old age and can’t fit in my old Kevlar jeans anymore and feel exposed when I ride now with regular pants.

I've liked the Bull-It jeans I got a few months ago. I wear them every day to work at Trader Joe's and just wear them the entire shift. They have CE Level 2 armor available for the jeans (which I got) and the jeans have held up well so far.

I caved and rode the GS to its natural habitat.

    Quick thoughts:

    - The throttle response/fueling is so buttery smooth. My Versys is known to have iffy fueling at part throttle, and with the age + probably stretched cables it can be very jerky at times. This BMW is so smooth at any throttle and has tons of torque down low, making it so easy to ride.
    - The bike feels much lighter than the weight would suggest. Low speed u turns, parking lots, etc are all so easy due to the low engine placement/CG.
    - The quickshifter is very nice, and feels better than my friend's Aprilia, but it confirms my thoughts that I'd much rather have a hydraulic clutch than a quickshifter (though I wouldn't say no to both).
    - The amount of menus, buttons, knobs, etc on the handlebar is staggering and a little intimidating. I'd definitely need to spend a few hours reading the manual to get used to everything.
    - Suspension feels a little pogo-y. I couldn't tell if it was the weird anti dive front end, or the overall suspension not being set up to my weight but it felt odd in corners.

    And finally... the dealbreaker:
    - The boxer heads did not play nice with my legs. I have a 36" inseam so I have a lot of leg and even at stoplights I was hitting my knees/shins into the heads. I smacked the right head pretty hard with my shin when parking and backing up into my garage. Wearing protective knee armor is a must with this bike (though even with my Aerostich I managed to smack the engine with my shin under the knee padding, which was not fun).

Overall a super nice bike. I wouldn't spend the money on it but definitely can appreciate it. I think I'd have a harder time saying no to an Africa Twin.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
But my lightly used KLIM gear bro?! Also have some Dianese stuff.

Replaced rear brake pads on my FJR1300 last night after work. 53k miles on the original rear pads. Fronts are all still originals.
