Yea, the '19 Subaru has a single disk. Although, I see why as most of the Subaru buyers around my area are older folks. Kinda strange being the youngest guy in the customer lounge in the service area... o_O

I still need to repair my old 70's Yamaha record player. There's no hope for the matching receiver (needs a complete and expensive cap kit) I have for it. Still won't throw it out though...

If you have a good tech go through the receiver it will cost you a good bit of coin for sure - and give 30 more years of service.

You will have a piece of equipment far superior to the BPC built today...

I haven't used a CD in years, probably since I owned my 2009 Tacoma. Left my darn Electric Wizard - Witchcult Today CD in that truck too! :annoyed:

I now just depend on satellite radio...

That's the thing, I don't know of anybody around here to do it. I do have a co-worker that works on pinball machines and other arcade games, I'm sure he could take a look at it. If I could get it to stop instantly blowing fuses, that's all I'd want right now.

The CD offered the highest level of fidelity ever available to the consumer.
I have a few thousand of them...

I had the satellite in the truck when I got it and was underwhelmed by the fidelity.
Oddly I have a stand alone home satellite radio ($35 at a goodwill) that sounds quite nice.

You really want a true amplifier tech familiar with vintage gear to work on it, there are many around the country with excellent reputations in the vintage HiFi forums.
They generally are booked more than a year out and never short of work.

I think the radios improved a little bit since 2017. My '21 and '22 actually sound pretty decent. My '21 had a problem with the drivers side speaker rattling until it got some miles on it. And I'll be dammed if the '22 ain't doing the same thing

Agree, the Vinyl has a wonderful sound, I have about 1/2 a pick up bed full of them too... Haven't played them in years. :anonymous:

The stereo in the truck is OK sounding, probably not as bad as some posters make it out to be. I did the Kicker/Subaru tweeter upgrade almost immediately and that made a nice (and cheap) improvement.

The daily van has an Alpine head unit with power pack amp, Kicker & Rockford Fosgate speakers and Dyna-Mat in the doors and quarters.
It blows the Toyota system into the weeds.
