Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
This one is cool... It has nubs on the bottom of the lid so the vapor can condensate and fall back onto the meat. A self baster. It's a master... Baster

My attempt at the treefort dinner. Took his advice and cooked the onions quite a bit longer. I used a bit less red wine and added mushrooms to mine. 9/10

Do that same recipe with some wild duck breast, delish.

Wait, scratch that….same recipe minus the tomato paste….

That's the best part about cooking. Once you get the core concepts down, you can tailor everything to your individual taste

We have a standard cooking rule in our house: The first time anyone prepares a new recipe, it has to be followed to the letter. That way you get a baseline for what the dish is supposed to be, and can adjust from there. Our binders are full of pages of recipes that are all marked up. Some quite drastically, as we've tweaked things over the years. It's part of the fun of cooking; turns each dish in to a journey of discovery.

My lodge lids all have those too.

OOOO Duck sounds good. I'm doing it with pork first then chicken thighs. Unfortunately it'll be into next week when I make it, I've got this week already done for with everything I smoked.

my brother used to make this recipe all the time. the duck game flavor of the duck breast goes good with that red wine.

Who has security cameras? Tell me which ones I should get. Wired or wireless is fine. I was doing some googling and there's like 7 billion different options

Ring has been mentioned a few times in another chat. Biggest downside I see is that if your internet goes down, it bricks your cameras.

Yah, I meant brick as in useless if the power/wifi goes out.

Is that your camera? Bear in the yard? Neat.
When it detects motion and starts recording, how much of the recording do you get? Is it uploaded to the cloud?

Yes it's my camera. They will record for a minute and then make a new video and stop a few seconds after there is no motion. They store them on their server but you have access to them as long as you have the subscription. $100 a year for unlimited Ring devices I think.

There's a 30 day free trial on the subscription when you first set up a device. We have 2 door bells and 5 cameras. All the cameras are plug in and the door bells are battery. The app lets you know the battery status. Keep a spare and swap them out when one gets low. Surprisingly they last a long time between charges.

Ok....Had to write an excel spreadsheet to figure out WTF we're always undertaxed...
I realized it's the whole married filing jointly individually being taxed as assuming you're both in ONE bracket but when you combo it bumps you to a different bracket and now you're missing the entire tax difference for that extra tax rate..
    FFS....
    Stupid govt.
They really need to work the "Worksheet" better...and just lay it out...
The Over/Under for each bracket fucks up royally as you get into higher tax rates and individually neither of you are in the next bracket but combined you are...
and then once your kid ages out of the 'ole $1500 deductions you really get slammed.

Additional withholding MAYBE properly calculated...I'll let you know next april
