I know this a bit of a stretch, however, what if the Corolla Nightshade release has a Tacoma teaser within?

A few minutes ago I had the idea and began to look the photos in the press release on Toyota USA's Pressroom website. I saw no Tacos in the pics.

BUT, the black Corolla Nightshade has the plate # "GLR 464" & the White Hatchback Nightshade has the plate # "JGK 342" --- ya know 342 hp & 464 lb-ft torque??

I remember seeing the rumors for power figures (iForce-MAX?) were about 326 hp & 465 lb.-ft torque?

I am pulling too much from this?

    (Also I am a new member, but a long time lurker....first comment/post I've made)

That could be true as it makes a claimed 340hp combined in the Crown

I wonder when the MPG estimates will be published. They usually come well after reveal day.

@Lt. Dangle - I'm glad to add the the hoopla, finally found my people! It's a stretch, but, with the Toyota has been lately, anything is possible. Hard not to be eagle-eyed and a bit paranoid.

@TacoMTga - Not too far off, Slightly off-topic: I am taken aback about HybridMAX using a 6 gears, probably based off of the old 6 speed in V6 Camrys/Sienna of old (2007-2017). I wonder if the current FWD 8 speed will be adapted in some form during a mid cycle refresh.

@Plasmech - With all the time Toyota has been taking, one would hope they would have sent figures out. Probably will not be though.

I normally swoon for older Toyotas, but the 4th gen is very intriguing. I understand the cause for concern for the T24A, hybridization, and who knows how much piano black will be in the center stack. But, if the leaked TRD Pro image gives any indication, it seems that Toyota is trying to give the best of the old while modernizing our beloved truck.

Also, could the access cab teaser w/ leaf springs, be the Hilux? I know there has been some murmuring about whether it be one this platform of not. (I would love the 1-Ton to return, but I'm sure I'd have better luck becoming President.)

I also wonder if a panoramic sunroof be offered? (Of course that might eat into Tundra sales) The Canyon Denali needs some competition.

I watched Kirk Kriefals video this am on the new Ranger Raptor. I would never buy one but the numbers he said were 400 hp and 430 tq or close to that

So the reveal event is in Hawaii? That sounds like a logistical pain in the ass.

Toyota is starting to look like the king of customization in the midsize segment. Ford has gone to DCSB only just like GM. And also the only normal looking truck with a manual.

They did, if you think about it though, they have been teasing for years since it has been available in the overseas market for awhile now.

That said Toyota teasers are bullshit.
