    Gotta pay to play.

Though most of the F150 Raptors running around here never have any dirt on them, seems a bit much to spend for street queen. Clapped out old Toyotas on the other hand…. :) ;)

It's funny to me, I see F150 Raptor and I think "overspent" but I see a 2021 Tundra Pro and I think "nice". I have no idea why, must be my Toyota bias.
Looks like we got a no reveal Tuesday?
I wonder how they are possibly going to keep a Tacoma reveal in Hawaii under wraps, but it's a good place for the rabid Tacoma fans.

    Ranger Raptor, sorry TW
405 hp, 430 lb-ft torque and 33” tires for $60,000. That killed the ZR2 AT4X for sure. I assume TRD Pro will be mid $50’s.

Lol! That dude is hilarious! “Brand new 2003…brand new…” lol!

Feel the same way about the Tundra Pro as the Raptor, interior sure is nice though. I am more of a just a couple steps above base model kind of guy, though these days poverty base models are equipped awfully well. If a got a Tundra, would be a SR5 with a mild lift. Not too low, not too high, just riiiiight.

No way in the world would I buy a 3rd gen right now. Too many other options that are all "better" on paper than my truck. In 6 months, the world will be your oyster if you are a midsize truck buyer.

I hope the 4th gen gets close to the new Rangers numbers in the payload and towing department. 1711lbs towing with a 4x4/7500 lbs towing as well as the real 48 inches between the wheel well would be nice also for those that use the trucks for truck stuff.

I will say the new ranger has pretty much fixed all my gripes with the mid size segment (bed width, steps, accessibility, payload, towing).

I won't hold my breath though.

Ranger Raptor is Ford’s attempt to put Toyota rep’s off balance next week by explaining their turbo 4 TRD Pro strategy versus Ford’s 3.0 six. Pretty clever move for a halo truck but the Raptor is also meant to distract people from the inevitable fact that the Gen4 Tacoma lineup in its entirety will roast the new Ranger, plus (unlike Ford) Toyota has the plant capacity to make enough of them.

Also zero chance anyone will buy a Raptor at the 57k USD sticker. With Ford’s garbage dealers we may as well be honest and call it a $70k+ truck.

Payload is excellent on the New Ranger compared to my Truck. At least 40% more payload to start at is hard to ignore.

Being a Ford scares me though.

I hope your right that the Tacoma 4th gen numbers roast the Ford in payload, towing and bed capacity....but, I am not holding my breath. As far as the top spec trims, the included front locker on the Raptor already sets the TRD pro back on its haunches a bit, because I would be shocked to see that in a Tacoma.

Me too, but if the Tacoma rolls and is not rock solid reliable, there would really be no point except for the die hard won't look at anything else fan boy. I deal with the Toyotas shortcomings because of reliability, if that ever is reduced I won't deal with the shortcomings any more, I'll just trade more often.

Between the payload and the added bed width that is hard to ignore, it would make putting an atv and 2 bikes in the bed much easier, not to mention a piece of plywood or a pallet.

With the Tacoma being all new, I feel like the "reliability" edge of Toyota is somewhat dampened potentially. Sort of levels the playing field and gets back to your initial point.

Interesting considering Toyota USA does not operate or sell cars in HI.

Right, if it roll out with normal teething issues no worries, but if it a hot mess of issues like the Tundra, well....

Turbo, linked rear, new trans, guessing the same 10 speed out of the Tundra is where most of the price increase will come from.

Haven’t looked but compare prices from the ‘21 to the ‘22-23 Tundra and there is your ballpark answer.
