Does anyone have experience with the N2 remote starter with a manual transmission? Do you keep the truck in Neutral or you utilize some sort of wheel choke?

I have the N2 with the manual, you leave the truck in neutral and apply the parking brake. There is an "arming" sequence that goes like this:
    1. Put foot on brake pedal
    2. Shift to neutral
    3. Engage E-brake
    4. Foot off the brake pedal (relays can be heard making a click)
    5. Turn ignition off, remove key (engine continues running)
    6. Open door, exit vehicle
    7. Close door (truck shuts off when door closes, beeps a few seconds later as the doors lock)
Opening any door after this takes it out of "ready" mode, my only mild annoyance. Sucks a little bit in the winter when you want to arm your truck to remote start next time you need it, but you have stuff in the cab (i.e. groceries) to unload. You either have to leave the drivers door open (at step 6 above, while it's running) and shut it last, or leave your truck running without arming it, and arm it separately when you're finished with all of other doors being open. Not the worst price to pay, but slightly inconvenient sometimes.

On the plus side, the truck doesn't shut off when you open the door after remote starting like the automatics do, you just insert your key, turn it to the "ON" position, and tap the brakes once, and you're off. Truck runs for 15 minutes before shutting off, but can be restarted indefinitely.

I also have the phone app, which I really like. Allows you to remote start from anywhere as long as your phone and the truck's cell phone module have reception, and it also shows your truck's GPS position in the app. I think the phone app subscription is $100 for 3 years, which was well worth it to me.

I was mildly worried about the neutral/e-brake combo in the winter freezing up the rear drums, but I haven't had any issues in 3 winters so far.

I had a buddy who had a 350z and he kept his car in neutral all the time. One day it ended up in the middle of the street because the handbrake failed. I am worried that might happen but I really want the remote starter from N2.

I have tried all these steps repeatedly and just cannot get the remote start to work .. I get the flash to come on, but just doesn't start ..
There's a link above that someone posted that explains the steps and I read that it says "Remote start will work on key fobs from Toyotas built from 2018 to 2020, but they will be deactivated after three years".

Does anyone know exactly what they mean here ?. My truck is three years old .. Is mine deactivated ?.

Thanks in advance for any advice .

On my 2023 Trd, and a friend has 2002.I finally figured it figured it out. With the FOB.
    1. Hit Unlock once, lights will flash,
    2. then hit lock once, lights will flash, immediately again, lights will flash,
    3. then hit lock a third time, and hold it, lights will flash, and vehicle will start and run for 10 minutes.
    Hope this helps.

    I tried and still didn't work .. I appreciate your help ..
This morning I was messing around with Apple CarPlay and on a app it says my truck isn't capable of remote connect or something like that ..

I live in south Texas so having the remote start to cool my truck off ahead of time would be great .. Thanks again ..

Does the 2023 Toyota Tacoma have remote start? The 2023 Toyota Tacoma has remote start. It has a factory ability to remote start using Toyota-connected services. Some of these services may require a trial or subscription to function.

Also just Google “ does 2023 Tacoma have remote start”. There are other articles there also.
