Sadly we lost an apricot tree. Pretty sure there is a reason there isn't apricot and peach tree orchards around here.

    Figs are finally leafing out.

    "bush" berries are growing nicely.

Been eating radishes and arugula. Other greens coming.

    Potatoes are rocketing up!

Will post pics, been landscaping our awful front area.

And lastly, 30% vinegar was on sale (acetic acid). Best "natural" weed spray ever. No worries about the well.

Planted a nice Prime Ark Freedom blackberry bush today that had several almost ripe berries, damn birds ate them within an hour of planting, going to have to figure a way to deter them.

Local wal-mart sells 30% vinegar for $19/gallon. Anyone has it cheaper?

I am reserving round-up for the fence line on the far side of the property (400 feet from my well). Anything closer gets vinegar and salt solution.

Potatoes are up. Had to replant the cukes, damn groundhogs got thru the fence and ate the cucumber leaves.
Groundhogs are no longer a problem, replanted cukes. Tomatoes are doing good, same with pepper.
We are entering 80+ degree weather, so we are watering a lot. Peach dropped a lot of fruit due to the high heat.
Switching to new mulch around the bushes and trees: Pine bark as a bottom layer for water retention and pine needles for the top layer for weed prevention.

Mixing vinegar with salt in the sprayer, a cup of salt per gallon.

I don't, seems to work better. Regular cooking vinegar (5%?) mixed with salt is subpar.
I could probably cut it in half to 15%, but have not tried yet. Need to spray around the raised beds and the well this week, will let you know how 15% works.

    Straight

    I don’t even add salt

    Doesn’t kill wild blackberries much

Super quick on tansy and equisetum

That's the price I pay. Not bad, I bought a case and now down to the bottom of the sprayer.

What does the salt do? Keep the weeds down longer?

Yes. Stays in the soil for a while. Romans used to salt the fields of the conquered nations, so they could not grow food anymore.
