I too have spent time in places I'd normally be indifferent to because of air conditioning.

 

IIRC, they either had his actual dog stuffed or a super lifelike model of it on display. Its name was Roy. Same as the Ol'Roy dog food.

 

That's a bit creepy but I also genuinely didn't know thats a Walmart brand... if they have ice cream and AC and I ever find myself in Bentonville I know what I'm spending an hour on I guess.

If you're extremely lucky in my little area, you can get a 3-4 bed for $4K.
One's like this simply don't pop up, I'm surprised its lasted 12 days, especially since its on a canal:

Dang you all are getting into LA rental price territory, in our pocket you can rent a 3 bedroom for $3 - 4k. under $3k if you want to live next to a freeway or seedier side of town.

Of course the closer you get to the ocean though it goes up exponentially

 

The ocean is dramatically overrated

 

It is down here, for sure. I wouldn't mind living near it further north though where the views are far better. I don't get the appeal down here unless you're really into surfing or the like.

 

Yeah we've been there for a while sadly. I have friends in L.A. who pay the same as we do here. Actually one friend has a two bedroom with a detached garage out there and pays less.
The bummer here is if you want to stay under $3k and rent a house not an apt, then its basically impossible. Under $2K you're in sketchy spots or tiny apartments/studios. High $3K and into $4k and up your options open up, but fuck, $50k a year hurts.

 

Might as well move to eureka then

 

yeah we are pretty fortunate we still pay $2100 for our 2 bedroom house. Hasn't gone up since we got it in 2017 but we have a really cool landlord. Sucks we have to look for something else soon though for more space. If renting, we are going to have to add another grand at least to the monthly budget for most 3 bedrooms around here.

 

So are mountains and lakes and rivers and creeks and canals and deserts. Just depends on the individual.

Wow, that's a great price. Housing is just a headache in general, I don't envy you having to look for a new spot.
