My sister flew into Knoxville airport at Christmas last year to come see our new place, so I've been down that way twice so far.

I'm a proud Wildcat! Not of the UK variety, but my Alma Mater - Chico State University, is also the Wildcats :D

Marginal claim to fame - some may recall that Playboy Magazine rated Chico State as the nation's #1 Party School in 1986. I started in 1988, as I was in the Army in 1986. As part of a required writing assignment in Freshman year, we were required to write an essay on how we thought potential employers might change their views about recruiting from Chico state because of that. Whenever anyone ever asked me about having gone to the "#1 party school", I laugh and respond with "Two things: 1. EVERY college is a party school; and 2. I was dumb enough to be an Engineering major. At Freshman orientation, they herd Engineering students into this big room [lab], lock the door shut, and open it a few years later to let you stagger out into the light, put a diploma in your hand, and send you off to find a job. I didn't have time to party!"

Sadly, Chico State di dmake the national news in 1989 or 1990 for the massive riots that happened when out of town asshats came in for the annual Rancho Chico Days celebration, and tore the town up.

fond fond memories of Chico State. We had a few friends of ours that went there and we spent many of time tubing down the river and staggering around downtime.

One of my classmates went on to Arizona State to get his Master's in Computer Engineering.

I never went tubing, but yes, that was the #1 summer sport for those who remained in town over the summer break.

Let's just say they wouldn't be receiving anything. They'd be returning stuff.

That won't get me banned right? :fingerscrossed:

They love it, they'll never leave and they're already planning a second home on their property as a part time residence for her MIL. We did actually go out there last year in September, did the whole tail of the dragon, etc... I mentioned it briefly in here, I think :anonymous:

Annnnnnnyyyyway, yes, we'll actually be out there probably the end of next month (we don't have our dates finalized yet). My nephew's graduation is today and we had planned to be out there for it but they are all about going out on the water and told us to so hold off for the warm before the summer hell. I am sure I'll sweat my ass off either way.

.....Really really need to finalize those dates... It's kinda soon.

Awesome! The dragon is fun! I have had the truck on it several times. I wasn’t on here much around that time, so I must have missed it. Send me a message when you know dates. Maybe we can grab some food and drinks somewhere.

It was super fun, minus the return trip. We went in my sister's Audi and got stuck for a few on the return behind that crash Adam LZ had (if you know who he is).

I'll let folks know when we solidified dates to be in the area or route, most likely the very end of June.

    Drinks are a must
