I test mine out on route 10 in Providence. I'm sure there's one spot I'd get air if I go fast enough.

Found a spring fed creek. Head's almost dead center of the plot. Been scaring out huge fat rabbits all day and had to sweep piles and piles of deer scat out of where I put the camp.

Taking a break before hauling up the cast iron cooking grate. I'm gonna hurt bad tomorrow but camp is done. Place is lousy with granite cobblestones, pretty respectable fire ring for now, def gonna put in a real nice one eventually.

I gotta remember my chainsaw next time. Doing this with a bow saw is for teenagers.

    Happy birthday, Drew!

A guy on my road has a pretty badly deformed face - I heard it happened from cutting up an oil tank.

I actually want to replace mine this summer. It isn't leaking, but when I asked about its age my oil guy said the design indicates it's a pretty old tank and he doesn't see many like it still in service. He or someone else is doing the job for me and taking the old tank, though - I have no interest in trying to get rid of the old one.

If you cut them using a sawzall and leave the ports open, it's fine. Closed up and using a plasma cutter, not fine!

Yeah, my instinct would have been a sawzall. I'm not sure if a scrap yard will take them, though. Friends and neighbors used to convert them to firewood trailers to tow behind a tractor or ATV, but I have no use for that.

My oil guy is semi-retired and cleans/repairs oil boilers and furnaces as a side job so he may not want to deal with it. I know another guy who is kind of sort of distant family that runs a small oil heating company who I'm sure would do it without inflating the price. He swapped my uncle's a year ago.

Hmm, looks like there’s enough water flow to cool the condenser. So where are you setting up the mash barrels? ;)
