I am sure this has been covered, but my search did not find any conclusive results -- so please do not tell me to use the search. If you would like to link any previously discussed topics, that would be appreciated though!

I have a '95.5 Xtracab V6 4x4. I want a rear locker. Someone in my local area is selling the entire rear axle from a 2003 TRD Tacoma. General question: Will it fit? If not, why not?

I fully realize I need to do more research on this topic. But its very hard to find the rear end of a TRD in my location. I'd like to not pass it up if it works. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!!

Yes it will fit, are you sure it is the correct axle with the e-locker? Sometimes they advertise it's from an TRD.. but they lie/don't know.

How much you paying for this?

It will fit. Does it come with the wiring harness, ECU, and diff lock button?

EDIT: I did a rear axle swap on my tacoma. You need to make sure that axle has the right gears. I believe it's 4.10 gears which is stock. How much do they want for the axle?

The axle has 38,000 miles on it. They are asking $800, but its on Craigslist, so I'll argue it down. What's the maximum you would pay for it?

Does my truck stock have the 4.10's?

Dude, if it is as you say, don't spend alot of time arguing about price, $800 is a bargain, jump on it, These are usually around $1100-$1200 when you can find them....

I'll give the guy a call tomorrow morning and see if I can't stop by to look at it.

As far as gear ratio I'm not sure but usually lower ratios (4.10's, 4.88's etc:) are for manual trans & higher ratios (3.80's, 3.73 , etc;) are for automatics

I still had 4.10's in my auto, and I beleive some even came with 4.56's.

OP, get the VIN off the vehicle, we can tell you what gear ratio it had.

His A/TM code is BO3A/A340E. That's all you guys need, right?

Let me know if you ACTUALLY need his VIN. I can get it tonight.

Hello, any luck on that rear end? I have a 96 taco and want to do the same thing.
