Music and phone favorites artwork blanks out when truck moves.

I have my home screen as music and the 4 phone favorites. When my truck isn't moving the gracenotes artwork for the song and the photos linked to my phone contacts favorites are displayed. Once we start moving the music are goes to a USB drawing and the contacts photos are blanked out. Pretty strange. I looked in the manual but this "feature" is not discussed. Anyone else experience this and have found a setting to change so the images are displayed continuously? I know this isn't much of a problem, just don't know why the engineers programmed the HU this way.

 

Mine does this too. I have not found any setting to stop it yet. It is probably for "safety"

I'd be curious if anyone know a fix.

 

My wife's 21 Rav4 does that too. Must be one of those safety things. Not to distract you while driving.

 

Same thing in my wife's 2020 Outback, never figured out the reason

 

My 2021 does it as well. I never noticed until I read this thread yesterday. Noticed it today on the way to work.

i recall on my '17 which had entune 2.0, the album cover/artwork always displayed when i was driving. music was played from a USB drive. might have changed with 3.0.

 

That's what my 17 does, my 22 corolla hatchback starts with the music album cover but as soon as I start driving it just list the song title and artist.

 

It's a safety thing introduced in MY2020 all across Toyota models.

 

It drives me crazy that the artwork goes away. The other thing that is annoying with this head unit is that it won’t stay on the radio as the main display. Every time you start the vehicle is defaults to the split screen. My 2016 and 2019 had an option to have it default to the last screen.

 

You can set a default screen. Look at page 30 in the multimedia manual.

 

I always use CarPlay and the music artwork is continually displayed, even in the split screen and even when driving. Are you talking about playing it from a usb? If so, I recommend downloading to your phone if you have the space and using CarPlay.

 

Yeah, I'm getting my music from a USB. What I do is listen to my music alphabetically. I know...strange. Anyhoo, I don't really like CarPlay.

 

Correct. But if you had “audio” displayed and it filled the entire screen when you turned the vehicle off and you turned the vehicle audio would still fill the entire screen. Now it reverts back to the split screen that you have set as your default screen.

 

My '17 Entune always displays the Artwork, but makes up it's own Artwork on some albums?????
Real world problems...

 

I looked again today, I noticed some albums display and some don't....
