    Hi,

I am not mechanically inclined, so please excuse my ignorance. i’ve got a 2020, it’s only got 80,000 km on it.

a couple weeks ago when i turned the truck and AC on and heard a squealing noise briefly, sounded like a belt or something. turned the truck off, checked the belt and it looked fine. turned the truck on again with no bad noise, but now when i hit the AC button it turns off after a few seconds. if i hit the button and run to the engine i can catch what i assume is the AC compressor pulley go from spinning to disengaging. any ideas what’s going on?

When there is a fault in the system for the AC it will turn the compressor off to preserve the rest of the system.

Mine did something similar, it ended up being a corroded grounding wire on the compressor. It is a unshielded wire going into the clutch right on the top of the compressor. If you pour some water onto the top of the compressor it might give it enough juice to keep the compressor on till the water dries (thats how mine worked).
The repair was a new compressor for me, but you might be able to replace the ground wire if you take the compressor clutch off.

The pulley always goes but it could just be belts slipping, they can slip anytime and have a specific torque spec. Otherwise it could be the compressor clutch
