Would replacing the battery reset the ECU and start the process all over ?

I asked that same question back around 2020, seems I got different opinions from the values are stored in memory, you'd need erased them, to they lose all memory when the power is disconnected, and can be relearned. All I remember on my gen1 tundra, if I removed the battery all memory was lost... I needed to reset all the radio, and clock functions. With this gen 3 tacoma when I took it off the lot, I was told about the trans operation, just to put it in drive, and use it that way till it complete's its learning stage. Try to resist using the S modes, and no trailering till at least 1k miles. I followed that advice except the trailering, but I never used the S, or ECT modes the first 1,500 miles. What can I say, but the trucks been great so far.

Will disconnecting (i.e. replacement) the battery erase my KDMax tune? Anyone done this?

I wish this could be stickied. Until we see the machine learning model in the Tacoma computer (lol) or hear from Toyota that it exists, there is no "learning" going on.

I know this is for the Tundra but it would not be a stretch to say the same adaptive learning is going on with our Tacos :notsure:
Lots of reading here but towards the end of the PDF (page 147) it explains a little on the AI shifting
The AC60 transmission on the Taco and the A760 on the tundra are similar in a lot of ways but also different in a lot of ways. Basically the former is a bit more simple than the latter:thumbsup:
Both have proven to be pretty bombproof over the years

I had a 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that went from zero to 60 in 19:never.

It would pluck a mailbox right out of the ground at 37mph and wouldnt even dent the bumper, though. And I could fit like, 7 other people in there.
