That's about 450 worth of lumber and those plastic panels aren't cheap either.

Totally agree on the more commonly used term of clockwise and counterclockwise. My chosen terminology was on purpose. Unless you have some strange hand disability you grab the knob with your thumb and pointer finger (at 9 and 3 o'clock since you prefer clockface references) and turn the knob to the right (or clockwise) and the volume meter follows direction. It is a comparison of like directions instead of two separate terms for the same direction. Your not in an F22 so spacial awareness isnt a factor. I totally agree it's not like most cars, I even said that. While it is a matter of opinion, which I stated. I disagree with those who dislike the controls. The Taco setup is better. Anyone who disagrees should buy a Ridgeline

J/k btw it's not that serious

    Actually...
The Engineers were spot on with their control direction. At least for my radio.

ON SCREEN the volume scale reads left-to-right as it goes low-to-high. The steering wheel control buttons match that perfectly.
If I want to increase the volume on the radio, I want the scale to move to the right, I push the right hand button on the steering wheel to reach desired volume...

Same with the station list. ON SCREEN it reads out as one above the other. Hence the steering wheel control buttons switch between stations by moving up or down...

Not what we're used to; not what we want; but the Engineers did their job without error.

That's why I had to stipulate my radio. The one you show is not the one I have.

to your first point-the volume should scale vertically on screen and should show one side of the screen. increases and decreases do not move horizontally. intuitively they move vertically.

to your second, I understand that the volume on the steering matches the volume on screen but that doesn't mean the screen is correct. also you should be paying attention to the road when youre driving. not the screen.

I have an engineering degree. If this was my product, I would never let this go into production.

Like I said, "Not what we want, not what we're used to...". Thus, there are some others who wouldn't send it out this way.
But my point was that they did the controls to match the screen = they weren't wrong.

I'd never say "should" scale vertically. They can. But they don't have to by any means. There are tons of other entertainment units in the world which scale horizontally. Not a big deal.

It’s the one I have. Am I allowed to say they were in error or no?

Had to go back for the door and some other odds and ends so it's closer to 650.00 by now but it should be good for the next 20 plus years.
