They have that twist lock style plug where you just change the plug, using the same cable.

Finished a couple more signs for a craft sale coming up Saturday. Local D1 college team.

Signs ready for Saturday. I've got multiples of some of them. Pretty well cleared out my wall I had them posted on. If they sell, I have a lot of work to do to redecorate, but at least the metal and paint will be paid for!

If you have the dollars:spending: for a Miller, cause I know they aren't cheap. I'll recommend the Millermatic 211 as a good option. It'll run on 110v, but also works great on 220v should you ever have the opportunity to add a 220v outlet in your garage/shop.

The 141 is a good choice, I used to keep one in my service truck for ladder work inside facilities too far my engine drive. If you can swallow it, I would fecommend the 211 or 215 now. Both are MVP (multi-volt plug) and will run on 120 or 240. I always suggest a 240 capable machine as many folks out grow a 120 rather quickly.

I can recommend primewelder as well for a lower budget option, from a customer service standpoint. I really like their 225xt tig machine, but have not used their MIG machine. Customer service, though, has been top notch and the 225xt was impressive.

Hobart is owned by the same parent company as Miller, ITW. So they are essentially the same with the oranges one being a farm and ranch market and blue being marketed to industry and hobby (pro-sumer).

Lincoln then Esab, in that order, are good choices. Specifically the 210MP if you can foot the bill is a nice machine.

No experience with the vulcan or titanium, though they get ok reviews from hobbyists. Everlast and YW are the bottom my list ... not bad, i just cant recommend them personally.

That was the whole idea of those magazines sell advertising to companies by promoting there products being donated to these projects.

Knowing full well the projects are beyond the skill of 95% of the people buying the magazine.

Have you started getting Commissions yet from Prime Weld?

If I needed another Machine I most likely would try one.

Do you still have room to work inside or is it just storage and everything gets dragged outside??

Tubing bender may as well budget for a tubing notcher as well.

I don't completely agree. I think, back in "the day", a lot more people were capable of doing significant projects - both for fun and for utility/function.

People had much less disposable income back then, and had to fix things themselves out of necessity. My Dad, as well as all his friends, fixed and built everything themselves - that' just the way it was. I guess that's where I picked it up...

Just starting be very careful of used machines .

Download the operators manual and study before putting the machine through a test of control and output.

Making sure it works like it should.

    I absolutely should lol

No but really, I've said it many times before -

PrimeWeld and Harbor Freight both have Chinese-made offerings, we get that

PrimeWeld is a better value; less money and more accessories you can actually use

PrimeWeld has a 3 year no questions asked warranty

PrimeWeld has a huge Facebook group in which the two that run the company are very active in

And if you need to call them? You'll get one of them two on the phone vs a call being outsourced

Did I mention their welders have never hit duty cycle even when I ran them hard?

Just when are you talking about ? Late 60`s and early 70`s

I also had far more Money back in those days .

I am also not talking about keeping things running and working completely different thing.

I am talking about taking your stock 283 and building a 500 hp engine at home in the living room.

How to port and polish your heads for that extra horse power.

On a budget no 18 year old had.

When I was 18 I only knew one older person that had A Mill and a Lathe in his home shop .

Was your father also equipped like that in the sixties? Maybe he was part of the 5%

I am sure where you lived played a Big part as well.

Yes, 60s and 70s. People had very different attitudes back then. I guess I am talking about more day-to-day things, vs 500 hp engines.

But I remember magazines talking about how to do normal/regular stuff - even the 4WD mags in the 80s. I learned a lot by reading mags - and was a little envious of the few "super" projects. But there was tons of regular stuff.

I'm sure where you lived played a big part - and who you had for friends.

Have you ever read HOT ROD Magazine from those days ?

Granted nothing Like The 4x4 Magazines of the eighties. PV 4wheeling was my favorite .

Still very many high tech projects .

Then I was working Part time in a Speed shop that sponsored a C Super Modified Camaro.

Then there was also so many Shops that Did Engine work almost every Auto parts store did Machine work now they for the most are all gone.

Then I can only talk about the things I saw in person.

May I ask how long it takes to TIG weld 1 block?

I don't TIG weld, but do lots of MIG welding.
