My wife asked me once what drink she should order, I suggested a cosmopolitan.

    She doesn't drink anything else.

My preferred libation. Try them with orange and spiced cherry bitters, takes them up a notch IMO.

Good Friday evening. Truck no longer has a sagging ass! And rides better than it did new with the Baja T|X suspension. Definitely found my new favorite shop. $70 an hour labor. 2" OME Med. springs, 5100 bilsteins, both front lower control arms replaced, and what the Toyota dealer didn't discover front drive shaft needed replacing. It was on the bench when I picked the truck up and now know where the clicking up front was. $2K vs. $6K at the dealer. And the ride and handling now, oh my!

Running and working septic, congratulations! Been ~5 years for me :anonymous: With new zoning laws the one company I talked to isn't even sure they can replace the main tank it is a 3 tank system built in the 60's. Guess I should find out before I spend all the money on the driveway and retaining wall. Hopefully they can do a mound system, all my neighbors have been running $20K+ and have had theirs done as the original owners aged out and young families moved in. Now I am the old man in the area

The offending oak died last year to add insult to injury. And it is\was a huge one :pout: but I hate the roots

Congrats on the "new" truck. Always good to find a good, reliable service shop.

Hope you don't have to spend $20k getting yours fixed/replaced. The guy pulled a nice big tree root out of my tank with a boat load of feeder roots that were blocking the inlet and my tree isn't dead, but I've been meaning to have taken down (there are 3 trees very close together and as a result, lots of bare spots on the trees and the offending one is the middle one) and now this is a good reason to get it done sooner rather than later..... said tree is a 3 trunk tree at least 80' tall

Good evening everyone. I got the GMC to run again, it didn't seem to be leaking out of the back of the engine anymore. I had it running for a bit while I picked up tools and other junk so that I could take it for a rip around the area. It literally died when I got into the cab and it wouldn't start. Dead battery, so I used the 4runner to jump it. I checked with a VOM and saw about 12V going into the battery, so either the alternator crapped out, or not having the dash cluster in place is causing weird issues. With my luck, I will bet that the alternator has called it quits.

I did go for about a 5 mile test drive but I was paranoid that it would stall and I wouldn't be able to restart it. When I got it home and parked it, I shut it off then tried to re-start. Nothing, not even a "click" from the starter solenoid.

Been more than 25 years with vaulting and CAD. I am the technical specialist for Electronic Content Management Systems at the number 1 ranked hospital in the US if not world from the tailfins on the planes at the little International Airport South of town.

Vaulting and license servers helped me get here, 27 years after I retired from the Navy. When a controller would ask me every 5 minutes when the system would be back up I eventually would break and say a lot sooner if you stop stopping me from doing my job. That was all systems from heads down workers, thousands of them, and them saying it is costing us $XXm a day while we are down in interest alone. And I would always think if you would have spent the money to design it the way I told you it would have paid for itself by now. Chiefs initiation taught me well and I kept my mouth shut. Usually. And there was no way I was going to let those workers go home without pay.

Ah vaulting. ProE vs. Solidworks although I have no idea where it stands today that was at least 25 years ago. And Autocad had to try Xref for vaulting, maybe they finally got it right.

You have a good boss, stay the course!

I went through that phase and have to admit I might prefer Scotch but after the first drink who gives a damn?!

Think I will go mix a Godfather it is Friday after all.

Those are beauties Marty! I have to reply to an email chain on 4 of us going to Sunset Country in Canada for a cast and blast at the end of September. But actually came back here to reply first. Yeah a once in a lifetime musky is something to behold. But it is just that. Give me a speck or brookie which yours are all trophies. Not many understand that.

With the dogs I have really slowed down on fly fishing. Sometimes think 2 dogs is one too many. And miss fly fishing. But the dogs come first and think you understand that. But if I could and the water wasn't boiling I'd be out there right now fishing for those trophies. Maybe I should be...

Thanks Susan! Well it is trashed beyond repair they say but really glad yours turned out well. Very glad. I was hoping for root mass as well but it is far beyond that. And will leave it at that.

One of the things I missed about TW is you and your wisdom and insight. Hey we can talk about shit LOL. Dogs. Life. You have always impressed me and I am thankful for that, hope you know that.

You have helped pull me through some tough times especially with my youngest son. Thank you. The chemo caused a lot of complications and waiting on insurance and PT completion, again. Thank you Covid he had to start all over again. Soon should get surgery on upper and lower back. But he is in remission and hard to beat that  Have I said thank you yet?!

Carry a long handled well insulated screwdriver. And thats all I gots to say about that... :D

Back ~1980 when I replaced the 2F engine in my 77 FJ55 Landcruiser and Man-A-Fre kit with a Chevy 350 4 bolt main I rebuilt from an acid dipped bare block we all carried one for that reason. Didn't matter what you drove.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you can no longer acid dip a block.

    Great classic cocktail!
Great classic cocktail. Here are a couple of suggestions: a single, large ice cube melts slowly and doesn’t dilute the cocktail. A good quality cherry for the garnish, I recommend Luxardos.
