It is good. It's very Japanese. Precisely blended. Palate is in the unpeated Scotch neighborhood but a bit sweeter.

Hibiki amd Nikka From The Barrel are two definite worth-the-money-hitters.

Just don't think "bourbon" when you drink it. Think Scotch. It doesn't punch you in the mouth like high octane bourbon or whiskey.

Safe to say I like it. I only keep interesting empties around (for an as-of-yet-to-be-figured-out project). I really should toss a few of these out...

I've yet to try it, but considering how many times it's mentioned in this thread, and the price, I figured I might as well grab one!

Trying a signatory bottling of Knockdhu 13yo sherry cask finished, 114.4 proof. Tastes like a second fill sherry cask with some slight Campbeltown or Lowland funk to the malt, yet it's a Speyside distillery. Never tried Knockdhu before. Reminds me of Auchentoshan a bit.

At least it's 102 proof, so that makes it more appealing. The blend sounds like it'd be good, too. Most of us have been burned by Jefferson's before, but if you pick it up let us know what you think.

I have yet to try that one, I absolutely love the ocean rye but have a tough time with the aftertaste of the Cabernet cask. I feel the pricing on anything from Jeffersons is a bit on the high side to what it compares with across the board.

A friend of mine gave me this bottle a while back. I’m grateful for the gift but for the life of me, can’t decide if I like it or not. Cheers.

Seems like another cash grab from Jefferson’s…although intrigued by the blend, price of admission is just ridiculous

Had a rather intriguing couple of bourbon experiences yesterday on a small family trip.

Ran across the heel of a Weller Full Proof at a random brewery that had maybe only four other bottles of whiskey behind the bar. $20 pour. Wife and I passed it back and forth and agreed that it was by far the best pour we’ve ever had. Thick, creamy, caramel butterscotch mixture with zero ethanol. Now, maybe that was by virtue of it being the bottom of the bottle, but it was incredible.

Next, lucked into an allocated drop. Arrived unknowingly 15 mins prior to buy the wife some vodka, walked out with this after a couple of hints from a clerk. I’d promised myself a Taylor is the only thing I’d buy given events of the last month.

First Taylor I’ve ever seen in my state.

There's a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant a bit south of me that has Weller FP and Weller 12 years for $12 a shot, and they pour heavy. I'm on a mission to take both bottles out. Taylor Single Barrel can be a real joy, nice pick up.

Great pick up and glad that the full proof tasted good! A sign that your palate is returning to normal?
