OEM requires a harness adapter. SR/SR5 harness is not available anymore because they do not come prewired for LED DRL. OR+ does have a harness provided by someone in TW.

I have no experience with the Morimoto XBs but they were definitely one of my options. Ultimately I went with OEMs paired with a harness from @daveeasa and am loving them. I found a set on ebay for ~$500 that were slightly scratched

Always oem. I have no experience with the Morimoto led units for the Tacoma but I've done an hid projector retrofit on my old car using the Morimoto mini d2s 5.0. Fantastic projector especially when paired with a decent ballast and osram cbb bulbs but when you go aftermarket headlights, quality is inconsistent even if it's a reputable brand like morimoto. I still had to warranty several parts with my retrofit set up and I'm glad I bought it from a good online vendor otherwise it would've been a painful experience. My old car didn't have an oem led equivalent at the time so aftermarket was the only way to go. Fortunately for our trucks, there's a nice shiny oem option right there waiting for you. Oem headlights is almost always the best option.

I recall seeing some posts a little while back on Morimoto LED headlight units. They stated that "fitting" was a little challenging, leaving a couple of small gaps. Gaps were not large (objective judgment), but when it is YOUR truck I can accrpt that even small gaps are large.

I work with electronics far and above automotive wiring for a living and yet I have no idea what that thread is trying to do. I assume it is all the into needed to build a harness for the SR5 but nowhere does it say that. And even then but I'm not sure if what is shown works or has issues.

Building a harness to take care of the combined DRL and front turn signal that SR/SR5 have.

Hard to follow just because it’s a lot of information at once, but it would work.

Right, that is what I expected.

It is however just a mass drop of info in no particular order and with no real explanation.

Point being that that thread probably isn't clear to folks what it is even trying to offer them, so if folks are looking for SR/SR5 harnesses it isn't obvious.

That said, great info for sure and massive thanks for it, not trying to disparage the amazing contributions of CM and others, this place wouldn't be what it is without them.
