Rear bumper bolt cover PT228-34000

After paying way too much at the dealer for a single cap, I decided to draft it and create an .STL file that could be 3D printed.

A few trials were needed, kept breaking clips, but after beefing them up and careful installation (used a tiny flathead to support clip while pushing in), the cap is installed (left in the pic, OEM on right)

If anyone is interested in the .STL let me know!

Let me know if you ever make one for the Center. Mine has been missing for a while.

 

If it's easy to remove without consequence, I could take a look at the part and maybe try to draft it

 

My wife just got me a 3D printer, I’d love to get the .stl file to try. I have printed a few things so far, but nothing useful. Can’t create anything yet, so have to rely on others creations.

Here is the part number if it helps. Mine was missing when I got the truck. I think it was around $8.00 from a local dealer in my area on parts.toyota.com.

Rough up the inside of the cap with sandpaper. Clean with alcohol. Clean the bumper bolt area, be sure it's dry. Put a gob of clear silicone sealant on the bumper bolt, push the cap in. Clean excess silicone.

 

I’m a slow learner Bray, but finally got a successful print by laying it flat. Thanks for your help and advice in getting this done. Vee
