I am using it with an 18" magnaflow muffler. I was catless for a while but it was still too loud and pretty stinky. I have since added a high-flow magnaflow cat. Now not as smelly and the sound has mellowed out pretty good. This is with the 3.4L v6 and DT headers. Yours may be different with the 2.7L engine.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I know they say those are metal. But those aren't the mythical, actual, metal ones.

Those are still plastic where the problem is. Tried them... they broke.

Anytime you dump the exhaust under the vehicle and/or point at the ground you'll get a lot of drone and it'll be louder. Best to route the exhaust out from under the vehicle in any rearward direction.

I had that same sort of setup as you before and found that to be the case. it got old. I then got the exhaust rerouted out the back over the leaf springs which helped a lot.

But it was still too loud for me with an 18in magnaflow muffler and the 2.7. The supercharger definitely made the exhaust a good bit louder since it's pushing more exhaust through the system. Sounded good at idle, but too loud everywhere else. I have since added a large resonator and that's helped a lot. My current setup is the LCE header, magnaflow high flow cat, 18in magnaflow muffler, and an unknown brand resonator (not sure how long but it's big).

moving the exit from out under the bed will make a big difference. It did for me. Almost as much as adding another muffler or resonator to the exhaust

highly suspect about how this bushing tore.
    upload_2023-5-12_15-28-24.jpg

the missing half was no where to be found. I would have thought it would be on the skid plate. I put the skid plates on after dealer replaced rack.

Anyway, ordered a temporary one that will get here ahead of the Total Chaos ones.

That sucks. I figured they were the same as the ones I have. I have these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YQBM1Y4 I assume they are the ones you are talking about. They were in stock two years ago. Mine were not broken at the time, but I bought them anyway.

It won't matter what muffler you run with it piped the way you have it it's resonating off the ground and is close enough to the cab that is what is causing most the noise.

If you pipe it out the back in whatever way you want but so it's not pointed straight down at the ground but actually exits outside the body a bit it'll make a big difference.

Have you seen the chillkat cable conversion? I'm gonna go with that if I have another Elocker wiring problem

Replaced the battery. It had died while I was on vacation for a couple months. Glad to be back with the taco!

Cool steel metallic, only offered in 98, but there's a similar color offered in 97 called lavender steel metallic

Picked these up today for free. Guy said they came out of a 2013 Lexus. No rails but they’re in pretty damn good shape. Gonna restore them as best I can and hopefully get them fabricated onto my rails somehow. And if they don’t work out, oh well, they were free.

Installed the no name 11 1/2" long " 4" diameter resonator...... I'm actually much happier.... much much happier. The tone is perfect off idle and does not have the harsh Crack under load. Is it loud? Yes. But it's way closer to the tone I wanted

Had to learn how to wire the halos and running lights, but I think they look pretty good. Gotta take care of some minor body work and clean her up...

I have not. Googling that now though. My issues never seem to be wiring.. I do a lot of river crossings so I’m guessing that’s my issue…
