So, I hear that the front speakers in the 2011 Tacomas are 6x9". ********* says 6x9". Crutchfield says 6.5"... what is it?

Crutchfield also says the front speakers are 6.5".
I believe that the speakers are 6.5" but 6x9" will fit with the ********* adapters, but I haven't taken my door panels off yet.

And don't use any of ********* crap. I just did my whole system over, and used ********* speaker adapters and they did not fit. Tons of trimming had to be done. Use Mr. Marv for all your stuff.

I know how to install speakers, I've done 8-10 complete systems in the past. Just wanted to know the size of the front speakers in a 2011.

Because I don't feel like taking off my door panel while at work, and I'm here for another 3 days/nights.
Figured someone who did an install on their 2011 would be able to chime in.

    Thanks all.

    Too few to list.
Better off with components in the front so I suggest 6.5"

Have you ordered them already? I have a pair of those that I ran for about a week in my Pathfinder and wont be running them in my Tacoma. They aren't the best, and honestly... I'd spend the extra $100 to get something different.

After the 'how to' section there is quite a bit of discussion about which speakers are in which models of truck.

Has anybody found an absolute answer to this question? I have a 2011 Tacoma which appears to have 6.5" in the lower door, and possibly a 3.5" in the top of the door. There are no speakers in the rear doors, but are rather in the headliner. I'm uncertain as to what kind or size of speakers are in the headliner; either way, everyone seems to agree that they can't be replaced without a huge mess and hassle.

Additionally, many different websites claim that the front door speakers are 6x9" rather than 6x5". However, this is likely because older models of Tacomas did have 6x9". Ultimately, I still can't find anybody who knows 2011 Tacoma speaker size for sure.

Any speaker will fit, with the proper modifications.

08 double cab taco: Mine were 6x8 front and 6.5's in the rear. I went with the adapters from TT and put in Alpine S series components and coaxial in the rear. However I can not stress how much NOT TO USE TACO TUNES. My order was finally cleared up via refund via claim through PayPal and the whole issue took almost a month. Had to buy parts local just to finish the install. Sorry about the rant OP.

Guys on the access cabs there are 6x9s in the front doors with a sweeter in the top of the door panel and there isn't anything in the rear doors the dumbest thing Toyota ever did and it is just about impossible to find the old door panels in ok shape to switch them out. The theaters in the headliner are called excites and u can't hear shit there garbage. There is no reason to buy adapters bc the stock 6x9 works great for the new 6x9s. All u have to do is cut out the old 6x9 and use that basket to install the new 6x9s. It works great sorry already did this in my 2011 taco. Installed infinity kappa 6x9 2ways and they rock.

On another note does anyone know someone wanting to sell the pre 09 rear door panels for an access cab

Did you replace your deck? Or just the 6x9s? Want to replace my front door speakers, but leave the deck. This sounds like a nice option. Did you amp the new Infinity's?

Haven't amped the infinitys yet but sound awesome and yeah I changed to the new Kenwood double din it gives me better control and the upper lines like the 718 and818 have reverse tilt that tilt forward so to stop the sun from glaring on the screen I luv it
