Can anyone recommend a good local mechanic that’s fair in the area. Preferably one who specializes in Toyotas. I would just take it to John Howe West and have Phil take care of me but, he retired just recently.

Anyone have any experiences with Kiwi’s Auto Repair?

Ya know, I have taken my truck there in the past but am looking for somewhere else to bring it. I really wish Phil @ John Howe West didn’t retire. He ran a tight ship.

Found this in the clearance endcap at Goleta HD. There are 8 more on the top shelf. The 10-piece kit only has a few sizes, but for $20 it's as cheap as it will ever get.

At $32 it was recently on front page of Slickdeals.net, from $79 full price.

Hey guys just found this thread subbed.

I live in Monterey and reached out to the North cal thread back about a shop for a re-gear, ultimately went with Shaffer's but they are booked till end of June. I'll be out of state around that time and won't be able to put in the time (2 to 4 hour drive to the shop and break in hours) realistically until September. I have family and access to a proper garage in SLO, I can do it myself and hope to not cause any fuckery or find a shop in slow that has early June availably. Or just post pone till winter for a re-gear.

Does anyone know any good shops in SLO while I start looking around?

You might try giving Nelson’s Garage in Cayucos a call. The owner is a Toyota enthusiast.

American Gear in SLO is where I've had three friends get regears and have had fantastic luck. Check them out.

Hey all! Camarillo area here. Moved here about a year and a half ago and was wondering if there's any local offroad/Overlanding groups. I'm newish to the off-roading scene and the plethora of of options around here are pretty overwhelming. Wouldn't mind linking up with some veterans to get the hang of things. Also, I just saw a flyer for Rigs and Coffee at TO performance off-road, has anyone on the forum attended?

Welcome! I am in Camarillo as well. If you are looking for 4x trail runs there is Point Mugu Off-road Club or something like that. I’ve been out of game for about 8 years but have a truck again and will be doing runs again. Pismo and desert stuff, more go fast stuff but many of the places have 4wd type stuff as well. I will post up in this thread.

I saw that TO Toyota started that performance/off-road shop and we’re hosting a Rigs for Coffee, I won’t be going but I do attend Ventura Cars and Coffee and the TO one as my kids dig all the cool cars.
