Put your name on it. The offender in the video replied in the comments that he was able to get a personal use or passenger vehicle plate.

The simple solution would be to lower the GVW of battery powered vehicles, but that does not seem feasible at the moment. I doubt if it will ever be possible to get battery weight down significantly.

Sure the state could change their regulation, that would also open up the possibility of more personal use heavy ICE vehicles being driven. I wouldn't care if everyone drove a loaded diesel semi truck trailer every where they went.

Is NY the state that wants to ban natural gas? Sure natural gas is toxic and can ignite and cause an explosion. Kind of weird to make an issue out of it and take a stand against it.

I forgot to rail on about the local gas and electric company driving around in 7000# Rivians to handle tasks that a midsize pickup could handle. Kind of a waste of their customer's money

Not sure why they are mucking around with batteries and electric motors.

Why not run them on air!? It is literally everywhere!

    :thumbs up:

saw it years ago, and kinda forgot about it. Popped into my head. Wonder why we aren’t seeing much more development on air powered vehicles? Not enough profit? Since the raw materials would pale in comparison than what is needed for EVs.

Remember having one of those air powered toy dune buggies when I was a kid.

That probably dose not work as well as you'd think. Plus that guy doesn't have the interesting back story like Elon does.

I like this quote from the article.

“When the air comes out, it’s in the same state as when you compressed it,” Benstead said. “You haven’t technically used anything.”

62 mile range is pretty good! The KTM E-Freeride that I had the pleasure in riding only went 13 miles, pretty fun little bike though. Wish range was better.

No talk of acceleration numbers with that air power. Not that you need to go 0-60 in 2 seconds but if it takes 15 seconds that would be a miserable ride.

I wonder if the HP consistently drops as the psi in the air tank goes down?

Probably pretty slow. Need something that goes boom to make it fun, ICE are basically air pumps, it is the boom is what gives it the kick over straight air.

Found some video of it moving, POV…really hard to tell.

Found a little information on how it works, throttle is controlled through a heat exchanger, then into the “engine”. So maybe not. Heat exchanger acts like a regulator? Or is there a regulator on it too? All the schematics I can find are pixelated when I zoom it.

Spent three days off roading and camping with a brand new Rivian, I was extremely impressed with how well it did. Having 13 inches of ground clearance in a stock truck was definitely an advantage. Here are some photos I got of it.
