Looks like three bolts per side - if you have a set of ratcheting wrenches it would help - HF has some decent cheap ones.

yes I do — I think the ones from HF lol.

actually just picked up the badlands off-road Jack too. Pretty nice and well thought out for 1/2 the price of pro eagle.

I used a bottle jack to push the engine up and to the side while being supported underneath (pipe stand on the oil pan). That’s doing one side at a time at least. Need to try the install again but move my orbital since it’s all in the way. Waiting to hear your review of the driver side first haha

I used a chunk of 6x6 on the lower oil pan per solids recommendation. He also said a phone book would work well too. It wasn’t nearly as sketchy or scary as I thought it would be because you really don’t need to lift much.

    Really off the lower ?
That’s seems like it would crush instantly. I like the phone book ideas for sort of a cushion

Yup, no issues at all. I felt the same way but trusted what he had said.

Edit: I guess he never clarified upper or lower oil pan, but I did lower and didn’t have any issues.

At the dealer level we don't send them out, only back to where the manufacture tells us to send them.

good to know, with the grain of salt taken haha.

i may try off the lower as well this weekend, that way if it does crush or crack or something it’s just that piece not the whole cast upper. Gets the Jack out of the way of the mounts as well.

also when you do get yours i don't know if you already have or not but Id highly recommend swapping out the bushings to a Delrin type like energy sus definitely improved mine also from what I've heard specifically from a guy who races his taco and is stuck using the stock rack due to class restrictions is that he added derlin stops directly on the shafts them selves to limit radius and he modified the boots not sure how but he said the main thing that kills the racks is when they get dirt inside them
when I did my mounts it helped a ton undoing the trans mount as well but then again I also changed that

Since this is a bs thread, what is a 2017 TRD OR DCSB with 120k miles and a restored title worth?

God i hate Tacoma owners. Me included.

this dude wanted to trade his restored title 3rd gen for the Lexus which I have listed for sale for 34k. KBB puts his trucks value at 25k so when I told him he’d need cash on top he actually told me he thought I’d be adding cash on top because his Tacoma is actually worth more than that.
