Sounds like you made some memories and a good stories or 2 to tell.

 

Any more thoughts on the April 28th weekend? If you all want to head my ,who is going to commit, be nice for a head count. And assuming some plan on camping. If you run my place its more camp friendly as it's all set up pavilion tables, wood stove, few ways to cook. The only thing I ask is sign your life away and bring your trail trimming stuff(there is some stuff down and needs to be cut back), and some food to share. Will have to see what the weather brings but have 1.5 options to get in and out if wet. There shouldn't be a problem either to swing up to John's and stay on roads to check and see what it's like for the future. And if you say you are coming just give a run down of what your driving, tires, lockers,winch and what not. Need to know what I'm in for either way probably run my brother's fj 80 raisin.

 

I second holding it at your place. I have more sweat equity than money.

Unfortunately I have a big event on the 29th and won’t be able to make it. Looking forward to other meet up at your place and that NY state offroad park or whatever in the future. Looks wild, debating Memorial Day weekend as I might be at Dave’s place and up that way already.

Anyone know of any off road spots that aren't 3+ hours from NYC?

 

Direct correlation, closer to NYC, the less “trails” for off-roading there are.

 

There used to be an off-road trail in Haines falls in the Catskills off 23a. It’s been about 20yrs since I’ve been on it I think it’s still there

 

Maybe what Hunter Mtn uses for their 4WD stuff now?

Just figured there might be some hidden/private spot.

Only spots I know that are less than 2 hours away are the Pine Barrens and the beaches in LI and NJ.

 

Anyone been to Northeast Off Road Adventures in Ellenville, NY?? Looks like a good spot for a day trip. Only a 90 minute drive for me.

 

I actually spoke to Scott (the owner) last week. Seems like a fun place.

 

I went once, it was fun but expensive. I don't know if they have "open" days, like you'd expect from most offroad parks. They seemed more focused on guided events and classes.

 

Yea Im not paying $400/day for stuff I pretend I know all about lol

I would do $100/day in a private group. Thats more expensive than Rausch/AOAA but its half the distance and doesnt require planning for a whole weekend.

 

It's in my neck of the woods. I've passed by a few times I think it's owned by the same group that does the hunter mountain jeep guided trails. I don't think it's for our type of wheeling.
