You could try a Braille Battery.

Designed to be incredibly "lightweight" for a battery.

    http://www.braillebattery.com/

Eh, Just stay away from the AutoZone/AdvanceAuto batteries. Get a NAPA battery.

    I've had good luck with NAPA batteries.If I wouldn't have been in a pinch that's what I would've bought.

Read the specs. Both the Optima Yellowtop D35 and DieHard Plat. have 100 min. reserve capacity. I was making a point that between two batteries of equal specs, the Optima is lighter.

The Optima Redtop has 90 min. reserve capacity. Whether the extra 10 min. from a Yellowtop is worth the extra cost is up to you to decide.

The Taco uses batteries with the "35" standardized form factor. Both the Optima D35 and the DieHard Plat. should be a drop-in replacement.

I have an optima Yellow top, it has a two year warranty but in 6 months it died on me, completely! They had to get me a new one, kinda disappointing because its supposed to be a deep cycle battery. Ill probably end up going with something different when this one dies.

I'll live and die by Optima Red Tops.... I've been using them for 15 yrs now, and anytime that I have to replace a battery, it will be with a Red Top. I had no issues with my existing stock cables, though they are a bit tight, but nothing that a few new cables and an hour under the hood doing some upgrades won't solve.

I've got my reasons for Red Tops, and I'm sure that anyone you ask will have good/bad things to say about any brand of battery.

You are correct on that, I work for EPM (Deka Batteries). We build our own label batteries, but we also build batteries for a few other labels(Just look at the bottom of the stickers). Quite honestly, if price is your only factor, go with the cheap one, the longer warranty is a sure sign of an inferior product, inexpensively manufactured, inexpensively replaced and do not have control of the manufacturing processes. There are alot of factors that cause a faulty battery, MANY of which can be avoided during the manufacturing process. So, to each their own. Just a little food for though.

AC delco for me. I went with a group size 27 and the 7year battery with a 50 month free replacement. Hopefully it lasts a while or if not I have a 4 year free battery. All for about $70

i wish people would quit thinking that just because a company owns another or makes two products that they're somehow comparable.
