I love major junior. It's fast and exciting. Guys actually put in effort instead of just coasting until the last season before their contract is up. Lots of mistakes and high risk plays lead to lots of chances and action. It just sucks that the Oil Kings got so greedy and jacked ticket prices way up when they moved to the new downtown arena.

Absolutely the case with the Kraken too, a lot of guys have a chip on their shoulder after not being protected by their former clubs.

It makes sense also many in ownership and the NHL wanted to avoid what was pretty much the status quo in the past where an expansion franchise would suck their first 3-5 seasons and the fanbases wouldn’t be there to support them, and in certain cases would end moving to another city, ie Minnesota northstars to Dallas Stars, Hartford Whalers to Carolina, etc.

I remember the Northstars especially moving, I was a Mike Modano fan, and it’s even crazier now to think how a team from Minnesota could move with how many people I know who loved the Northstars and now the wild.

Don't blame skinner myself, but I do you think Campbell could've put in the right time to finish the series in their favor. Just a guess.

Can’t speak for the rest but at the time Hartford population just wasn’t able to sustain the team before the transfer to Carolina. Canes struggled in the much larger city of Raleigh even then, having to play in an arena in Greensboro 90 minutes away first 2 years.

Winning the Stanley Cup in 2006 was a highlight, however there have been some lean years since. The last 5 years under coach Rod Brind ‘Amour have been the best sustained period of winning I believe with PNC arena filled to capacity and making the playoffs 5 years straight. I see us winning the cup this year and if not, next year like all the rest of the teams see themselves lol.

I just subscribe to all the services that carry it lol, they started doing the same thing with Mariners games where they’d black out Root Sports on occasion so I got Apple TV fir that too.

 

Yeah, a team from Hartford that’s basically a second Boston team, not gonna draw a big fanbase with the Bruins being such a storied franchise.

I cried foul through my teens and entire adult life, how the hell does a city 2 hours south of the Canadian border, that’s got a strong fanbase in other professional sports (let’s not talk Sonics), not have an NHL team? I was a flames fan, an Av’s fan, a Red wings fan, then in my twenties a Canucks fan. Now that we’ve got a team, God please let us keep it.

 

I'd probably do the same if I watched TV, I just watch Hockey and occasionally the news though.

Honestly shocked that Woodcraft did not start Campbell in Game 6. Facing elimination, Skinner was benched, I believe. 4 times this year in the Playoffs. I think Skinner has a bright future, but facing elimination, I figured he would try to change something up. Campbell played well in relief of Skinner in both series' this year.

Dallas has been dominating this game, kind of shocked that the Kracken did not come out hard in this game 7. Especially with Ottenger(sp?) getting benched last game. Feels like Dallas definitely wants it more at this point.

Props to Seattle , refreshing to see a team that succeeds due to teamwork and effort throughout a lineup primarily of other teams' of cast offs
