And now it's no longer leaking & burning oil out of the valve cover! Blaming the last shop that replaced the gasket and didn't follow the instructions of selectively applying gasket maker to certain areas.

 

give it time, it will find some other minor issue that requires German over-engineering to resolve

 

I am changing my idler pulleys, and have a question.

Any tricks to changing the pulley on the tensioner? I assume it's a left-hand thread, probably as tight as the other pulleys were. I have an awl in the hole, holding the tensioner in the "loose" position. Can I change the pulley with the tensioner locked back?

Also, should I change the tensioner? I'm at 200K miles, no issues except for a squeeking pulley at startup (just started happening). I'm changing everything for good measure.

When I changed mine I think it was normal threads, and I was able to just step on the assembly and crack it loose with a 3/8 ratchet. I am assuming you are talking about the supercharger tensioner. If you are talking about the main engine tensioner it’s a bit more involved to swap.

I got hit by a major hail storm raining ping pong balls and curious whether to fix my hood or just go CF. The sun rays and CF don’t necessarily mix well overtime I heard. Curious what non biased peeps say.
