There is no chance the next Gen 4R arrives the 2nd half of this year.

New 4Runner arriving later this year? That can’t be correct.

Probably start teasing it after the Tacoma reveal. Would be on the same spec frame as the Tacoma as it has been for a while I thought,

I don't think the current 4R shares the Tacoma platform, but definitely the next one will.

I thought that was odd too. I figured it meant the 23 model

Ha! Almost was going to sell it, but everything else is in good shape, frame not rusted, never wrecked, have practically rebuilt the whole thing these last few years. My wife is driving it, she was going to get a Corolla Cross, decided she likes driving the truck better. Heck of a lot cheaper for a new engine than a new vehicle. Her round trip commute is only 1.5 miles, that and a few errands around town didn’t make sense buying a brand car.

She does really want my 3G, loves the clamshell doors over the extra cab on the 1G. so in 4 years when I get a new one, she’ll take that. Hopefully they have the bugs out of the 4G by then.

Yes, I hear the frames will now be made using a volcanic ash mixed with their classic Chinese cheapesium steel.

Koa grain dash panels, Alaheʻe based seat covers, and Kumquat based wire insulation.

Trucks will also be delivered with a dealer installed Lei hanging from the rear view mirror

Instead of a windshield they should just have a curved screen that shows you what's outside and/or whatever else you want to entertain you.

Well, they're obviously just guessing like most everyone else. They've been proven wrong about the manual transmission. There's likely other mistakes in their prediction.

They may be wrong about the 8sp transmission too. I think the new 10 speed is a major possibility.

Happy Taco Tuesday everyone. Hopefully we get something today but not holding my breathe... Either ways it's only 3 days away.

Guys, kind of a dumb question but has any of you suffered from sciatic pain or lower back pain and does it get worse when driving the Taco Manual Transmission when pressing the clutch constantly ? this pain is driving me crazy and i don't know if is because of that. sorry for the out of topic but given there are a few that have the MT I rather ask

Yes, however depends on the injury and the individual. I had a herniated disc that caused sciatica. Better now, did go away since I switched to an auto. Is it because it healed or because no longer pushing in the clutch, perhaps a combination of both?

    piriformis stretch helps.

Thanks for the answer. it's driving me insane the pain. I drive 30 miles each way 5 days a week and its not getting any better and I feel it more not while driving but after I get out of the truck. I don't want to sell the truck but if this is the cause I will have no other choice. It really sucks because I love the MT

You’re welcome. Pushing the clutch in does cause the pelvis to move ever so slightly, enough for some us to cause nerve pain. While mine was from an injury, shifting a MT did aggravated it. It did go away after a year and a half. Mine would only hurt while I stood, better if I sat down. Then would flare when I would drive my MT. While it did heal before I bought the new truck, it hasn’t come back either. So why I said it could be a combination of both, healed and no more MT to cause further aggravation. That said I miss having a MT.

Also on anti-inflammatory diet. Basically no sugar.

Sciatica is caused by a wide range of things, just have to figure out what is causing it. Had a bad back since I was 14, finally blew a disc chasing a 21 year old kid on my dirt bike through the whoops. Didn’t quite want surgery just yet, so did PT, exercise, diet to try and fix it. Took 1.5 years, but no pain now, and still able to ride dirt bikes. Dropped 20 lbs too. Back to the weight I was in my 20s (51 now).

I am thank god at a healthy weight and try to avoid sugar as much as possible but I have noticed that while my drive my wife's car (automatic) on the weekend it doesn't hurt as much , also the sitting position on the tacoma doesn't help either. I have the sitting at the highest position and lumbar too but that has not helped much. Oh well, lets see what the 2024 brings in, hopefully the sitting position will be way better and I could probably get an automatic in a couple of years, meanwhile i have to find a solution to this now! thanks for the input man!
