    Hey Guys,

I saw someone mention that the 1995-1996 don't do well with a S/C, but forgot what thread it was from. My truck came with a S/C installed and I ended up snapping a Valve. I have since removed the S/C, but still have it and I got and itch to reinstall.

Can anyone redirect me to a thread where this is talked about? Or let me know if they or someone they know has had success with an instal.

    Thanks,
    Tommy

Pretty sure the compatibility problem is with the '96 model OEM ECU and most of the aftermarket piggyback fuel and timing management programs like the URD 7th Injector. It's not with the TRD/Magnuson MP62 supercharger itself.

Is your truck an auto or a manual trans? If it is an auto, there will be difficulties because your auto must have the OEM ECU to be able to function. If you are a manual, then there are workable options.

Is the supercharger you have a 1st gen TRD (light grey color) or a 2nd gen (black) model?

@Bartmaster I have seen @1997tacomav6 's name come up a lot. He seems to be extremely knowledgeable.

@Digiratus I have an automatic 4x4. Seems like it might be near impossible? I don't have the biggest budget, but I can put a change jar on top of the fridge if there is a way. It is a 1st gen Super Charger. I would hate to sell it just to find out later that it was possible.

I already have a 1998 ECU that came with an engine I bought and rebuilt.

Just pulled the Grey Magnuson out of the barn to give it a look. Still wondering what options I have for this 1996 Tacoma 4x4 automatic. I thought I saw some people say they have one on their 96's. Am I mistaken? Is it a Hard No?

Also if I proceed I would want to do a rebuild on it before installation. Any body know if I can find parts for this? Seems like the previous owner had done some janky silicone gasket to fix a vac leak. You can see in pic 2 the fix.
