Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner! Wife and I went camping at the Oregon Sunstone Collection Area near Plush for a few days last week and picked up this haul off the ground.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Found a big white rock. Looked so out of place. Picture doesn't do it justice, it was like a pile of snow in the woods. Very fragile too, shattered easily. If any of you know what it is, I'm all ears.

Hart mtn was one of the first adventures i did in my 2004 t4r... seems so long ago.
    Sunstones.

Picked up a few rocks over the years.
That last one (same rock last 3 pics) was made by nature. Six sided.

Nice, Oregon is such a cool state. I had a nice soak in the hot springs up on top in a snow storm. It was a cool experience.

In the U.P. It was pretty large. Also it was located where it was under water until a dam was removed exposing it.

I did a little digging on this and did not see any pegmatites up there, but there were some copper mines and also some clay pits and limestone mines, so not really sure on this?

Took some family up to hunt Geodes in Kentucky yesterday.. Had an absolute blast..

Started off with some roadcut geology, then went to a creek that is always loaded with geodes..

    Obligatory truck pics included..

Bump for this thread! I've always liked rocks and now I'm going to dive in to rock collecting. Here is one I couldn't collect but greatly enjoyed finding nonetheless.

Got lots of rocks (its in the name) but not many pictures at the moment. Do some of my own lapidary as well. Here's some siderite, fossil crab concretion, and some cabs I've done.

Here is my best Kentucky Agate so far this year. It was slim pickings at the time as there hadn't been a good flood when I went..

Still need to soak in oxalic acid and polish, but I really didnt think it would be much before I cut it.
