Here's one that has seen a fair amount of blappage. I've never had an issue with this beyond aesthetics. But yea definitely in bike park type berms I'll roll a tire @ 30psi.

 

mine look like bigger X's on my dhr/dhf. like if the lines kind of diagonal from top right to bottom left were the same spacing and perpendicular too.

never been an issue though.

maybe its a different casing and tire though

I’m coming to you guys broken. I was messing around with my trigger shifter and shot this thing across the garage. In my efforts to clean, sweep, and check the piles of dirt I’m coming up empty handed. Does anyone have an old trigger shifter and can send me this little metal clip I’ve screenshot. Apparently you can’t buy it separately.

Also, from what I’ve saw this clip is in every shifter. SX to XX1. So I’ll take the clip from any broken or cheap shifter.

Tire rolling. Although higher pressure does reduce it, the tradeoff isn't always worth it. A trail I ride has a techy loose as shit top section, and a fast and bermy lower. I'll take the grip on the loose over support on the berms anyday.
If you're rolling the tire, you're showing cords. I consider it a sign of a shreddy day.

Any tips on bleeding TRP brakes? I bled them 3 times, following the TRP video instructions and I still barely have any braking power.

 

Do you have a firm lever?

 

A little spongy, but it doesn't just compress to the handlebar, it does firm up but I have to use a lot of pressure to get the brakes to do anything. I ended up ordering some pads, thinking maybe the pads got contaminated along the way? I rubbed them down with isopropyl after the bleed but maybe something else is going on. Fronts were fine, they were a closed system when I got them so I just wiped them down and they're working fine. The rears were an open system when I got them so I assumed bleed from scratch. I used the cup at the top, syringe at the bottom. Pushed fluid from the caliper to the cup, use the lever to push fluid back to the syringe, push fluid back from the syringe to the cup, plug the cup, put the bleed screw back in, pump the lever a few times and hold under pressure, tap the caliper with the handle of a screwdriver to get the fine bubbles out, pull the cup, replace the lever screw and good to go. It seems like some fluid is escaping when I pull the syringe, even with the cup sealed, which I'm assuming is letting air in and leading to the spongy lever.

Thinking this through, I suppose I could try to cap the lever while it's still the high point, then flip the bike in the stand so the caliper is high and pull the syringe. Maybe that would prevent fluid from escaping?

 

I dont know if it matters but I usually do a 2 stage push pull sequence like these vids. Bleeding brakes can be a pain, for me its 50/50 if it works first try or takes 2-4 attempts.

This is how I learned to do brakes.
Some parts are on order and I have a buddy who is giving me some wheels, fork, crankset, and whatever else he can find.

 

thats what I run - its nice to not hassle with a full tailgate diaper when its just my bike being moved.

 

I find the TRPs a huge pain to bleed because of the use of a set screw on the caliper bleed port and it’s location.

The best method that works for me is to use the push/pull method shown above to get all the old fluid out. Then I remove the caliper from the mount and gravity bleed (I.e. open funnel at lever and open set screw at caliper) while rotating/tapping the caliper to get air out of the caliper. It’s wildly messy and you have to be really careful with cleanup but I can get them perfect first go.

 

Yall got any tips for jumping in the wind? Been riding at a smaller little park with some loop trails and doing the jumpline. But damn reno is windy. 35 mph other day. 30 today. Blowing across the line on monday and straight into my face today. So the jumps where its more than a little 5 foot table and has a proper lip on them, I feel myself getting moved around or not having enough speed when its right at me.
