POR-15 is part of the plan. Plan is to grind down what's left of the welds, remove as much rust as possible, rough up the areas that are not rusted, prime it with POR15, and then cover it with a few coats of rust-oleum spray on bedliner. It's definitely not an actual bedliner, but it has a little texture so it'll be easy to hide when I do touch ups.

This guy named Noah is out of Kohler for the OTT tune. I haven't scheduled anything yet as there are a few more things I want to do before getting a tune. His email is noah@tunedyota.com. Let us know how it goes!

Lol. I showed that spot to my wife last weekend. She asked how the hell I managed to get in between those trees. After looking at it again I still don't know either. Talent I guess

The blast shop in Kenosha charges by the hour for sand blasting, when I had my rusty bumper done they blasted, primed the rusty parts and powdercoated the bumper it totaled 420.00.

I'd say with those sliders you could get them blasted for around a hundy.

If you had the 35s back then you obviously would've made it out.

Painting sliders is on my to-do list. I was planning on stripping and painting myself. Seeing what the going rate for sand blasting pretty much cemented that decision lol.

I’ve been using this little blue norton rapid-strip disc on an my milwaukee angle grinder for cleaning up metal.

Not sure if it will vaporize in seconds if used on rough rust metal, but on it does great stripping paint off clean metal. I figure hitting any rusty spots with a wire wheel first will help extend it’s life. But for sure anticipate using at least one or two discs for the entire job…with the use of wire wheels for the rough spots..

I hit the rust with a wire wheel, and if you used rustolium paint it wipes off easily using acetone. That's how I stripped my sliders last time I did fresh paint.

Damn, am I the only guy in the group that doesn’t have a Milwaukee angle grinder?

I was eyeing them at HD the other day, they had a combo with angle grinder and impact driver. The $450 price tag made my head spin.

Keep your eye out for sales on their website. Sometimes there are some really good deals. My M18 fuel grinder was free just for buying the SDS MAX rotary hammer.

Uhhh.. 9"!? My grinder suddenly seems kinda small. o_O

It's ok if you have a small one, it's how you use it that counts.
