I still wish they dropped the old 4.7 from the tundra into the Tacoma:(

Since everything major that we’ll see on Friday was pretty much locked in a while ago, I would like to submit my last minute requests, which include returning the bed storage compartment that their accountants stole from us, a sunglasses holder for OR/Pro trims, of course the grab handle, and maybe give back that little rear seat storage pull they deleted. Most of that they can tack on by Friday. Am I missing anything?

Excited, still think its gonna be borderline ugly aggressive, but "sick" none the less, wont be jumping ship just yet, my 2022 goes in for a suspenders and TE37s thur as I'll wait a few years spending enough time seeing all the 2022 Tundra growing pains. Last two I saw there last few days, for all those thinking if the new Taco will be bug free...

We all know the first run of new Gens will have bugs.

This is two years in now, and they aint like the little nuances we experienced during the first batch of 3rd gens.

The 3rd year of a new gen is typically the one you want.

I get it as another fanboy myself, I had a first run 2016 and 17, been there and here for that. But certainly didn’t see any catastrophic engine failures during that time or lose control arm bolts from the factory.

More like 1.5 years.... I would like to see some actual data on the tundra problems. I have a feeling it's blown way out of proportion because of the internet. I could be wrong though.

Well, it's a frame up new gen. Some people will unfortunately have a good experience or bad one. Either way, Toyota will learn what to do and what not to do. The Tundra and Tacoma are two different vehicles.

Oh my bad that half year…Been a member in that group since it started and it’s not an uncommon post. But I tend to agree.

I have as well, and I agree that post is not uncommon at all...Its almost a pastime now to see how many engines or catastrophic failures pop up on that page on a daily basis...lol

All I can say is I am glad at least the new Tacoma won't be made in the same factory that the Tundra is right now..

Funny, saw a new Tundra on a flat bed today, wondered what was wrong with it, or perhaps it was just getting delivered to the new owner from the dealer.

Vinyl seats, rubber flooring, rear seat delete on all trims, work truck payload option for those of us who actually use our trucks as trucks. Dreaming now, 6 or 7 speed manual trans with a granny 1st gear.

Only if they moved the starter to a reasonable location for repairs. Otherwise that would be one of the better engine choices for the Tacoma, the HP 271/TQ 313 numbers are about perfect for a midsized truck. 1st Gen Tundra was about the perfect size too. Which I guess the 2G/3G Taco became only a tad narrower.

Wait, they took out the seat pull loops in the rear of the double cab?
