    I feel for people that write owners manuals right now. Customer has had a product and the manuals in hand for a whole year and here I am having to walk them through the absolute basics. Blarg.

    Time to drive back.

    Brought the Land Cruiser, much more fun on a +6hr round trip on a hot day with the AC blasting. This aluminum radiator is really keeping this beast cool as fuck.

    As for my wife, her condition has improved and it is readily apparent compared to the last visit. On the downside, she isn't there where she should be discharged yet but nothing anyone can do about that.

    That’s great to hear that she’s on the mend.

    Do you have Prestone green in the LC btw?

    Thanks, and no never.

    I use the Toyota pink stuff.

    Only reason why I mentioned it is because I changed out the radiator some months ago. I've never had an overheating issue at all and it was replaced because of the bypass nipple that broke off on the original.

    However it's been cool every single day up until recently and I've been driving in stop and go traffic in the Bay Area in really hot weather with no issue.

    I've been between 74 to 77 at most Celsius.

    So good to hear that there is progress. Never feels fast enough, but at least it’s not static.

    @Ozark_RegCab

    I was over 6 hours away from home at @Tour991 house when it happened. I'm pretty sure it was the huge change in temperature going from hot to freezing cold that caused the plastic to finally break.

    Got a new clamp and hose and stuck it on there as best as I could to make my way back the next day.

    20221112_075754.jpg

    Figured instead of fixing the nipple, or buying another OEM radiator, I decided to upgrade.

    74 to 77 is crazy cool, especially for a hot-blooded 1FZ; that's what I'd expect to run with no thermostat. The Tacoma runs pretty cool too, but more in the 180-190f range.

    Also I didn't realize you were such a Toyota purist; I run the green stuff in all my junk :luvya:

    Damn. Won’t any coolant do that if you let it sit long enough though? These trucks shouldn’t be too picky about what coolant is in them as long as it’s ethylene glycol. Hell, they’d probably run on straight water lol.
