Just checking. Anyone input their re-gear ratio on speedo calibration?

I know gears don’t affect the speedo. Curious why the speedo cal gives you option to enter them. I went 5.29 on 285’s

Curious if anyone enters their “new” gearing ratio when programming the module before install….

    Couldn’t find a definitive answer.

Wonder if it makes a diff or if everyone just skips it.

Speedo calibrator gives you the option to enter gearing because it’s a universal device and some other vehicles need that in there to be accurate. If you enter 5.29 on your Speedo calibrator, you will make the speed reading incorrect. All the calibrator does is start with your stock tire and stock gearing and take the tires and gears you enter and change it by the appropriate percentage. Since the Tacoma doesn’t factor gearing into the speedo, you don’t want the calibrator to add that info in.

you can see it in the app on the computer. It will tell you the correction % it’s going to program to the unit. If you add in gearing, it will reflect that by changing the % vs what it showed when you only had the tire change entered.
