For those of you that have carbed motorcycles(I have a 1980 CB750) do you run the carbs to empty once turning off the petcock?

Also does anyone know a good motorcycle shop in seattle/bellevue/redmond area?

I do if I know I'm not going to ride it in the next week or so. Or if I want to be extra thorough if I'm putting it away for the winter or whatever I'll do a full bowl drain using the drain screw on the bottom side of each carb.

Like @spencermarkd I only do if I won't be riding the bike for a while.

On the Navi I'll turn the petcock off but not drain the bowl since I use it every day. Usually I'll turn the petcock off about half a mile from my destination so the bowl will be partially drained anyways.

I ALWAYS run startron enzyme fuel treatment in all everything that sits for more than a week (so pretty much everything that isnt my daily driver truck) regardless of fuel injector or carbed.

For Carbed stuff. I am SUPER extra if its going to sit more than a week cus I fuggin HAAAAATE cleaning carbs. Ill run the thing dry by turning off the fuel and unhook the fuel line from the the petcock (as the fuel line from petcock to carb can collect fuel in the line like a finger over a straw that slowly ends up draining into the carb as it sits ) and let it idle till it dies. Then ill open up the carb drain screw to drain out the remaining bit out of the bottom of the bowl.... then ill turn the choke / enrichment knob on and crank for 10 - 20 secs opening and closing the throttle a few times to pull vacuum through all the tiny orifices to dry out everything. Ever since I started doing this, I havnt had a carbed thing not start after sitting for a long time.

And the startron is surprising. Double dose in a couple gallons in a generator of my dads. Sitting for 2 years via above method (as well as fogging the cylinder), thing started 2nd pull on 2 yr old gas.

Try to only use Ethanol free gas. If you can't do that then add Startron or Seafoam to help prevent Ethanol damage to fuel system. I always turn the pet cock to the off position about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile from home to run the float bowls dry or close to it.

Even ethanol free will start to gel. Startron everything, drain everything! #HellaParanoid

Nice have fun. The Philly one meets at a moto dealership, usually a decent turnout. This was a few years ago they had us start our bikes at the same time and make some noise

Summit Racing? Last time I ordered from them it shipped real quick. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/nbc-nlp5? Looks like they have some in stock. Or check autozone stores near you online? I know they carry NOCO.

    An option..

I’ve thought about the X2 for a few weeks now. I have yet to dabble in the lithium market for a battery in a moto. But their AGM has been great in my heep for the last 5-6 years now.

Yuasa battery is 3 3/8” high. That X2 is 4 1/8” high which is the same height as the agm battery

Hit 7K on the ride home tonight, averaging about 775 miles/month since I bought it, maybe I’ll be able to get my average to 1K/month by august.
