Yup definitely not worth what people think its worth.

I bought it used at 30K in great shape and I take real good care of it -
That is the key to BMW/s
If you stay on top of it and do what you need to, when you need to - its not bad.

When I did the suspension - I replaced every bit of rubber [ball joints, rear shock mounts, etc] and most of the hardware - a worn suspension will tear that car to shreds.
I could feel when the spark plugs started to mis/fire before the ECU caught it and I replaced the plugs/caps/wires too.


I had 220K on my E36 328is when I sold it - it needed suspension #3 of its life, other than that, it was fine..
I still love that car and miss it.
