All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Anyone have a Toyota dealership in the greater Southeast they’d recommend?

The time has come to move the wife to a larger family hauler and the 4Runner is her top pick.

I am fully aware it’s a shitty time to buy a new vehicle, so please spare me your disposition on that matter. Simply curious on others experiences, good or bad, with some dealers regionally.

I ordered my 2015 from them. Best price around, no haggling. Lowest (at the time) dealer add-on prices as well.

I'd stay away from Beaver Toyota. Was seeing some outrageous markups on bare boned models :jpow:

Green's Toyota in Lexington, KY. They are next door to the Georgetown Yota plant, and they had good inventory even in 2021, when I got mine, and GA dealers had NOTHING. They took TEMNA form on Tacoma when GA dealers refused, i.e. sold me a high demand vehicle below sticker. In December of 2021.
Our family has been buying from them for 15+ years.
Will be adding a new RAV4 in 5-6 years, will go back to Green's.

It is a long haul, but if you use them, PM me, we always use the same sales guy. No pressure, older guy.

    Novel incoming:

I bought a Tacoma from Atlanta Toyota in 2018, another Tacoma from Carvana in 2021, and a RAV4 from World Toyota about a month ago.

Since the RAV4 purchase was the most recent and probably the most relevant, I'll start there. I did pretty much all my shopping via internet/text message to avoid wasting my time driving around and to have everything documented. Contacted World Toyota, Beaver Toyota, Cobb County Toyota, Nalley Toyota Stonecrest, and a few others in Georgia and Tennessee. World Toyota had a vehicle coming in that was an exact match for what we wanted, except it included Toyoguard platinum which we didn't want. IDK if true, but they said Southeast Toyota forces all their dealers to include that. They were willing to sell it to me at MSRP, and ultimately it took 5 days from the time I put down a $500 refundable deposit until the vehicle was on their lot. They did have a $900 or $1k doc fee which is pretty high for GA, but I didn't have to pay for any other add ons/markups. While I was negotiating with World Toyota, I reached out to the other dealers to see if anyone could beat their price, and ultimately nobody else either had a match for what we wanted or was able to beat their price. Cobb County Toyota advertises no dealer/doc fees which was why I contacted them, but they let on that they do have a $2k or $2500 markup on all vehicles - even worse! They asked me for the dealer worksheet to see if they wanted to compete on price with a similar vehicle, but when I sent it to them they insinuated World Toyota was lying to me about the vehicle I was being shown (they weren't), and then refused to compete on price. Nalley Stonecrest didn't have any vehicles allotted that matched what we wanted - they sent me a few used vehicles but we were not interested in those. Beaver Toyota had the right spec vehicle at a good price except it was bright red, yuck. They tried to show me some similar RAVs but none were the right trim and options. Then the manager above the sales guy I was texting with called me and left a message asking me to call him back and deal directly with him instead, but when I called back maybe an hour later, he was extremely rude, acted annoyed that I had called him (literally answered the phone with "What?") and said he would have to call me back in a few minutes, and then never called me back at all. Unfortunately the dealers in Tennessee (not part of Southeast Toyota) did not have anything on hand or allotted that matched what we were looking for.

When I bought my current Tacoma in 2021, I had been watching internet listings for several months waiting for just the right vehicle. I had checked with Atlanta Toyota and some others on what they would give me for trade in value on my then-current Tacoma, and it was peanuts, and none really had exactly what I wanted. A 2012 4dr TRD Offroad in immaculate condition with 35k miles popped up on Carvana and I jumped. It was probably slightly more expensive, but way way less hassle. Truck showed up, I checked it out and got it inspected at Toyotechs, nearly everything was good so I went with it. The only downside I experienced was that the hood got dented and the paint chipped when Carvana unloaded it at their facility near Atlantic Station, and there were a few other minor nicks in the paint. Carvana agreed to fix all these issues, but they pick where the vehicle gets fixed and the Maaco they picked did a very half-assed job. If I didn't already know I'd be covering the truck in pinstripes, I would have complained a lot more until it was done exactly right.

The Tacoma I bought in 2018 came from Atlanta Toyota. They had the best price at the time on a used Tacoma in the best condition. I know I looked at one at Landmark Dodge that looked like a painter had owned it, and one at Beaver that was more expensive, higher mileage, more wear and tear with lots of odd pops and clunks, and had a dead battery when they tossed me the keys for the test drive :rofl:They also refused to come down at all on the price despite showing them the truck at Atlanta Toyota that was all around a better deal.

The only one I would buy from is Earl Stewart in west palm. No dealer fee, no markup.

Also, give this guy a call Steve 561 308 6697 - He is a broker and was able to find my dad a Tacoma (from earl stewart) at the height of the pricing nonsense for MSRP.

Must be the Beaver way. We are in the early phase of the purchase process, but Beaver had a vehicle I was interested in and sent an inquiry. They have since pounced more so on hounding me about my trade-in, and the 4runner they sent me a quote writeup for wasn't even the one I inquired about. Fun little $1600 add-on from them is called the Beaver Benefits. Not sure what the hell thats suppose to be, but sure doesn't sound like any benefit I want.

That is a haul, but I'm not opposed if the deal is right. I'll give them a look and reach out if it seems worthwhile.
    Solid feedback, thank you.

I personally feel like my criteria is pretty broad, but specific at the same time:
-Brand new (must have per the wife, I'm fine with used. Happy wife happy life)
-Lunar rock, white or black exterior
    -Black leather interior
    -Sunroof
-Minimal to zero dealer or SE Toyota add-ons

I believe we are kinda locked into SR5 Premium and Off-Road Premium due to the need for leather option.

Does working with a broker require a fee or some level of commission? I'm not against it. Just curious if any deal they might find for you could get mitigated by their costs using them.

Appreciate the feedback all. Keep it coming.

He gets paid by the dealer for securing the sale. Doesn't cost you. He has access to people at the dealer that know what is coming in. Call him up and feel it out. He's a good guy.
