You never know unless you check it out. But also it establishes a presence in the area which shows others that they're paying attention in the area and to drive safer, etc. People can disagree with it, but it doesn't change what it is. Like I said, I don't necessarily think it's the biggest deal in the world, but it's a valid stop nonetheless.

 

It’s extremely terrifying for some people to get pulled over, for any reason. Traverse City/sleeping bear dunes, (my wife’s tribal territories) we make sure we don’t have ANYTHING on our dashboards even, so we don’t give the police any petty excuses to pull us over. We normally keep Sage and a medicine wheel on our dashboards, we make sure our son hides his eagle feather in his car as well in those areas. There are plenty of bad drivers speeding well over the speed limit at every second in the state, that is way more dangerous than having a blocked rear license plate.
The Smoky on my route is actually pretty cool and told me he’s only looking for extreme offenses. He said he’s constantly turning a blind eye and it sucks when in today’s world if you are a considerate driver, the other drivers on the road think you’re in a hole.

Lake County has been approved to start accepting bids to create an ORV park near Webber Township which is basically the north half of Baldwin and surrounding area.

weather finally turned around up here!!!

 

Currently waiting to get my truck back from the shop. They've had it all week to fix a leaky timing cover. While doing that they discovered the water pump and head gaskets were leaking so they had to keep it longer. Luckily for me, it is all covered under my platinum extended warranty.

 

Heading to the Gilmore Car Museum today, can’t believe I have never been there. Hopefully they have some old trucks.

 

That is a freaking cool museum! I could spend a day alone looking at the hood ornaments.

I should (in theory) be getting my truck back from the dealership today after nearly 2 weeks in the shop.

I'm so glad to hear they got their liability insurance issues taken care of. This is a fun place to putt around crawling. You won't be doing " full send" jumps, but you will also be driving home under your own power and not having to call a flatbed towing service.

Ill put it my calendar. I'm only 30 minutes away .

 

Finally getting my truck back after 16 days in the shop

 

Got the truck back. Seems to be a little more peppy. The Highlander was nice for MPG, but definitely glad to have the Taco back.

Furthermore, they showed me that Toyota covered $4747 worth of repairs which is way better than the $2200 I paid for the platinum warranty. Not to mention that was less money than I would have had to pay since Toyota pays less for their own parts than I would have had to. I'll take it either way! Now here's to hoping any other major issues happen within the next 9k miles before the warranty expires!
