Hood and roof both rusted out. Anybody have any experience using rattle cans or even a roller to redo their paint? specifically in pyrite. If you have, what color code did you use?

If you go to the paint shop and ask for 1E7 the silver streak Mica, I have a 2011, there are 4 “shades” of that one color. I found the color that worked best and closely matched was 1E7 Base when my hood was painted. Just watch your shades of the color

    Oahu?
Go to NAPA 3165 N Nimitz Hwy
They can put the Pyrite Mica in a spray can.
They also carry 2k clear cans too!

Ordered online and color matched but save yourself a huge headache. Just plug color name in and code comes up 4T3.
Sand well and use the correct primer first. Then buy a cheap spray gun and get a quart as spray cans will not cover evenly.
Been the spray can route and you need like 3-4 coats of color and clearcoat.
Tape and cover everything else as overspray gets on everything. In a garage the floor needs plastic too.
Just what I found. What a pain/mess to do so next time Maaco for hood/roof.
As a note the fenders and under the windows will be next for the clearcoat to go. Mine is starting all over now in FL sun.
A full truck quality job or wrap is over $5k if you looked.

Wrap will only last a few years in southern states
