I replaced the boots on my front axle (everything OEM) - Something doesn't seem right after re-installing it, I also replaced seals on diff and wheel.

Can someone help me understand where I went wrong?

The shaft looks good, But that rotor! Maybe lighting but that rotor has some major warpage going on. Also the inboard pad is too large and leaving a lip on top.

Thanks, just seemed like it didn’t look „balanced“ but I’m happy based on your reply.

As far as the rotor goes — it’s only my passenger side. I posted a few months back (can’t recall if it was here or Reddit) but a few weeks after getting my new tires and alignment done at Skips tires I kept hearing this weird noise. After inspecting, one of the metal clips that the pin slides through had broke and was literally being dragged through my caliper/pad. I suspect that’s why it looks like that. The brakes feel and operate seemingly fine and are only about 2 years old. Do you think they need to be replaced regardless?

    Currently running Brembo blanks.

Did you put on some lugnuts?
Did you torque the outer axle nut?
If above done then could be rotor, brake pads, or caliper slides or pistons sticking - or due to one problem now all of them.
How did/does it sound/feel without the front brakes on or just the CV installed.

    - 1 lugnut hand tight just to use as leverage with a jack stand while torquing axle nut.
    - Not sure what it sounded like prior but I didn’t touch the brakes between rebooting the axle. I can handle the brakes if they’re an issue my real concern was what seemed like the axle shaft wobbling

If thats drivers side and original roller bearing in diff (not the ECGS bushing) then that inner CV wobble is normal. Not the same on passenger side of diff.
Many posts on that. I assumed you got the inner CV locked into (locking ring on end) the diff and pulled on it to make sure.

Got a link on a relevant thread? So far my search isn’t finding much on my specific concern.. Unless it’s normal and I’m just not used to it. This video is from passenger side.
