I wrote lastnight that Kirk Kreifels was in Hawaii showing the new Crown. And some ppl thought it could be there before I posted it. I could be wrong but I think it maybe there as well 130 am eastern time is 530 Hawaii time maybe to early but who knows.

We’ve probably already seen enough to know that the new truck will draw an even wider audience. The biggest mystery that remains might be the price. The Tundra used to be a cheap, reliable big truck with a V8, and now it’s an expensive hybrid truck w low build quality, and reliability TBD. RIP Gen1 & Gen2…

The similarly equipped TRDOR I bought in ‘18 stickered 43k, while in ‘23 was 47k. If Toyota pushes that envelope even further with Gen4, they risk turning an everyman’s truck into an aspirational truck, and that would suck.

I’m looking forward to seeing the lower tier trims tomorrow, which conspicuously, Toyota has not shown us very much of.

 

That's an hour and a half before sunset. The last car reveal I saw in HI was for Lexus, they started pretty early and then let the media drive the cars around the island taking photos etc... Tends to be a one day or even half day event as multiple day events at these Hotels are crazy expensive...

 

Nailed it, my fear for the next Tacoma, but hey drives up our resale, seen what happened to the used 2nd Gen Tundra market? Prices went above sticker when new.

While it will be more expensive than the current Taco, it can't be more expensive than a Tundra of the same build level. Food for thought

 

With driving Tacoma prices higher I guess Toyota is opening the door for a lower cost unibody pickup to compete with the Maverick.

 

Funny you say that. We talked about a little Stout a few back and I have seen a few videos in the past few days with a out of talks about one. Even Scotty Kilmer yesterday had a few minutes about one

 

It does make sense to add one to the lineup.
